V4 Wunderlich Engine Guards

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Ian_H, Feb 17, 2024.

  1. I saw these installed and thought they looked quote discrete.
Does anyone have these installed and the Evotech engine/radiator guards? Need to know if they are compatible.

  2. Thanks. That's what I was thinking.
The centre bar is installed independently of the side guards - wonder if it would impact performance much without the centre bar ?

I've sent a question to Wunderlich as well ... will reply here once they get back to me.

  3. I normally don't like engine guards as they look like scaffolding but these do look good and are much more discrete, good find! One other question comes to mind - how easy / can you get at the air Flap mechanism when they are fitted, looks like a very small gap to get your fingers in to click the flaps open or closed?
Structurally I would think that the centre bar is important to transfer any impact across both sides of the engine bars rather than to just the fixing bolts on one side. Seems they are not available until March 24 but might pre-order some for my V4S.

  4. No problem flipping the flaps. just a little bit of a reach.

  5. Thanks for confirming. You obviously saw I used your photo.
I've ordered the same guards and hopefully will be able to confirm they fit with the Evotech engine guards. Wunderlich couldn't tell me of they would work or not.
Big price for you to pay in the US if you paid list ? $460.
They're €240 here - although I will be paying some import tax.

  6. You can order from Nippy Norman’s and avoid the import tax.
I’ve just ordered the Wunderlich Vario footrests from them.

  7. just an FYI for anyone considering the evotech bobbins. they don't fit any model with the flaps. was hoping to put them on my new V4RS but apparently they won't fit. so same applies to Rally and most new ones as believe that all new models will be coming with the flaps now

  8. Might be worth dropping the guys at Evotech a quick email, as they're generally pretty hot on this sort of thing.

  9. the dealer has already spoken to them cos they were trying to fit them at the time. they sort of said "ah, better take them off the website.." but notice that they haven't. might also give them a call

called evotech who said bobbins will fit but you can't use the wing flap things. no plans in immediate future to amend

  10. A heated seat

  11. The engine guards arrived from Wunderlich Germany yesterday and got them installed this morning.
Pretty easy job and they are compatible with Evotech engine guards.

Pretty pleased with how they look.

  12. Smart and discreet. Did you get clobbered for extra import duty?

  13. Yes - but Wunderlich did take the VAT off their advertised price for non EU buyer. So not that bad overall.
About €46 off from removing the VAT .. about £47 import tax

  14. Guards are very neat.
Your bike looks great with the black side panels. Looks better than ‘factory’.

  15. Are they Ducati panels or a wrap? How about the graphics?

  16. Looks really nice. I’m guessing that includes the cost of the panels, or do you have to send them yours?
