1200 DVT Www.bike-parts-ducati.com - 5* Or 1*?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Jackstraw, Oct 4, 2018.

  1. I need to buy a couple of parts online. I've used www.bike-parts-ducati.com in the past and they were quick and efficient. However an order I placed 11 weeks ago has still not turned up. I chased after 4 weeks and was told the order had got lost but was now back on stream and it would be with me immediately. 3 follow up emails have not received a response

As they have been good in the past I'm happy to accept that this may just be a one off blip and to carry on using them - but before I do has anyone else used them? If so was it a 5* or 1* service?

If 1* is there another company you would recommend for online ducati parts

  2. Who are they? Doesn't look look an official dealer  - could be one of those sites that take your order and they order from a dealer on your behalf adding their mark up. Why not simply ring a reputable dealer like Cornerspeed (or PM @nelly on here) WM Snells or Moto Rapido and the like also are fab for service...

  3. End of the day you can only buy official Ducati parts from the dealer/service centre network. Ducati don't support "online retailers". Many large dealers run an online shop, but in all truth, a simple phone call will get you the right part and availability info. The website above, doesn't appear to be a dealers own site so is probably drop shipping and ordering from a dealer. If the dealer doesn't have stock, then they won't have it either. Any delays in supply to the dealer will be accentuated by the delivery times it takes for them to get the parts, then send them out to you.
I've seen a few online retailers selling genuine parts at inflated prices, so while it may be convenient to order online, a phone call will save you cash in some cases.

  4. Thanks for your replies
My nearest dealer is about 35 miles from my home so its not very convenient to get to. It is definitely easier and by the time fuel etc is taken into account probably not much more expensive to buy online and have parts delivered.
When I first bought the bike a year or so ago I struggled to find Ducati parts online eventually stumbling on www.bike-parts-ducati.com/
I am happy to support Ducati dealers but looking at the websites of the three mention by Exige (Cornerspeed, WM Snells and Moto Rapido) I don't think the first two do online sales. I can see that Moto Rapido do so I will give them a try - thanks

  5. I have used this website a few times and always been good. All my bad experiences have been when talking to the dealers where they just dont give a shit.

  6. FYI - Cornerspeed is our very own @nelly who answered you up there ^^^^ so there's no reason why you couldn't send him a PM when you are in need of something.

  7. All you need do is pick up the phone and talk to parts. Andy

  8. I do appreciate that it's not always easy to find time during the day to call, and easy to browse any time.
Snells are 20 miles from me, as are p&h. Both will happily post stuff out, which for small stuff is cheaper in postage than the fuel to get there and back.

  9. You could always message me so I can order and add loads of money on :innocent: but seriously, message Nelly as stated above, also Andy above also works at Moto Rapido (although very short hours) but they will supply and post too. Online parts registered in UK, with a french address and a Chinese name is not the way to go

  10. I have used them many times, their comms are shocking (1*), but their reliability is been very good (5*). I may put business the way of forum traders in future now I know they exist, and would be receptive to a PM as that is as convenient as ordering from the site, nearest dealer 20+ miles and I work long hours so that doesn’t work for me.
