TZ 350 F\G with Campagnolo wheels, is that correct? I use to have a TZ250 K to L spec as my last racer. Previously owned and ex British National TZ250G with Lectrons and Swarbrick pipes and my first TZ was a C to E spec.
Yes that's correct. It also has 250L suspension, Tony Smith pipes, in fact it was Tony Smiths own bike. Lots of other trick bits like ignition and reverse slide carbs, Spondon brakes etc. Had it for quite a few years now but don't ride it much. Really nice bike. I also had a 250F that I put 350 barrels on it with Swarbick pipes, went well but not as good as the above bike.
Very interesting, lovely bike. I never raced one but had a go on a TZ350 and an ex Ted Broad TZ500. The 500 was like being strapped to a rocket!! very quick but quite fragile, it dropped two cranks in the time that a friend of mine had it. At least it's likely to be an appreciating asset, what's the spares situation like now?
The 350's are the best, IMHO, but the L crank cases a box are better and more reliable as they were specifically designed for races and not road based like what we had before. Spare are easy to get apart from a few items. Most things are newly made, cranks, pistons, barrels even frames etc. They are still raced alot, especially in the ICGP series, fantastic.
Still got mine as well, that's me going into Sears in 1984 in my avatar. Cost me £900 in 1982 and I bought a pair of Campags off Simon Buckmaster for £120 after he moved on to the 500 class. Really exciting bike to ride and hope one day to get it back together for one more go. Red998, if you think a 500 was quick (and I'd never say it wasn't) you should try a 750, a mate of mine let me have a have a go on his OW31 along a section of the M25 many years ago and also at Mallory on a test day after my 350 blew up and that is a real animal
My hat is off to you! I struggled with a 250 for a few years! as the power delivery was quite amazing. It came right in the end but it took me a while! It really was like no two stroke I had ridden at the time.
