Hi everybody, long shot but looking for an original yellow dust cover that came with the 748sp/sips. A long shot I know but worth a try. Thanks in advance.
I think you would be very lucky to find one now. They are made of a J cloth type material that disintegrates with age. I had one for my 748SPS and it crumbled to dust after a few years. If you do get one I would not use it as it's likely to do the same as mine. A nice thing to have though if kept preserved and then sold on with the bike at some future date maybe.
I have one in red from an '02 R. The 748R was delivered new in yellow with a stand and a red dust cover. The bike is one owner where I bought it from. I never new they also had them in yellow. Well It's for sale as is the bike.
Thanks for the speedy response gents. The bike is yellow and has an original red 'j' cloth material cover with the old style circle Ducati marque on. I know they were done in yellow but trying to track one down.
You would be very very lucky to find one of those for sale!! I have the original J Cloth yellow one I got with my '02 748s. Been washed a few times and seems to have stood the test of time. It's currently vacuum packed and will stay that way for some more time.... Ducati currently use this lot to make their current covers: Covercar | Car Covers | Shop | Confezioni Andrea Perhaps they'd make a batch of yellow ones with the older Ducati Performance logo on it..? Thanks for sharing that pic Bullitt. My red cover has the Ducati Performance screen printing along the sides not the nose. The links interesting enough, seems the covers due out in Dec 16 are fully customed to buyers requirements. Saw this cover bag with Marcus Neiman that got me thinking.
The silver 748 was sold exclusively by Marcus Neiman and no doubt was an original Red\Yellow bike simply repainted to sell in their stores, hence the Yellow cover. A very rare bike but it was only a stock 748 and the change of colour was the only difference, although I have seen one with a mono seat. My SPS cover just had Ducati 748 on each side and I'd assume that most of the SPS models at least had covers like this. Possibly the SP may have been different.
