Last year my ECU failed, bike is in the shop for two months, this year the fan craps out so the bike started overheating so fast in the city it spewed out a huge amount of coolant from some type of valve just above the exposed part of the exhaust pipe on the right side. Bike gets serviced everything seems fine, boom yellow engine light comes on one day after I pick it up. It runs completely fine though so not really sure what's wrong. Its not blinking either. Just skimmed over manual but did not really get an idea of the problem. I will send it back in of course but wondering if anyone had a similar issue on 959/V2?
Light comes on even if a bulb is out/not plugged into loom so could be anything. Just go get it plugged in. Would be nice if there was a setting to get more error info on the dash. Even bikes on 90s could do it so don't know why these can't.
Hold bottom toggle switch down for 3 seconds and if light is on you get into Error screen. Probably just say Eng (engine) fault but you never know. Eng is generic code but from recent personal experience with the light and bike running ok I’d say map sensor. Only stops if (when) both fail.
Just had it checked, apparently it was the gearshift sensor that was misbehaving. I have noticed once or twice that it had been a little wonky but thought it was simply me not pressing up or down properly. He did not say it was a recall but sort of a common issue internally among the mechanics. Part should be here Friday hopefully and then its game on
So that's interesting. Was it the gear position sensor or the actual shift sensor on the shift rod? I found my gear position sensor practically hanging off when I took the front sprocket cover off. I have a lot of shift issues on downshifts, but they never mentioned anything when checking for errors codes recently. Wondering if I should change the gear position sensor anyway as it looks easy to do.
not sure, but its like a rectangular piece with a screw hole on either end with a cable coming out from it. The rectangular piece is mounted on the engine itself I think and I believe he said something that it measures something inside the engine (or gearbox). It sounded like it measures something through the metal casing but I could have misinterpreted that information.
Yup just checked with them to make sure. Shifter still works perfectly 99,9% of the time though but glad it was only that issue.
And now the bike has decided to put out the yellow engine light all by itself Well well, in she goes on Friday regardless of lights on the dashboard.
