Yet another carbon question

So I’m after a full 998 fairing in carbon. I did some research and decided Ilmberger/Sandbar composites was the way forwards. Anyway after a catalogue of f**k ups I’m sending the lot back and cancelling the order.

So the question is where next? The Ilmberger stuff that wasn’t damaged or wrong was top quality and that’s what I’m after. Can anybody offer a comparison or recommend any of the other manufacturers?

 

Good question.

First part of order was delivered, RHS panel cracked and crazed. They agreed to replace it. Then I noticed the LHS was a different design to what I ordered. They investigated and told me the mould for the part I wanted was no longer servicable and no new moulds are not going to be made for the older bikes. Did it not occur to them to ask if I wanted a completely different part? Basically take it or leave it. Then I was told the seat units weren't up to scratch and I would have to wait for new moulds to be made (just the opposite of what they told me previously). Furthermore they couldn't say what pattern they are going to make, how long it would be or what the new price would be. Not impressed. Then to top it off the replacement panel arrives and it's the wrong side! Oh and the parts which are aparently no longer available are still for sale on the website.

For the record Nigel has been great to deal with and I believe genuinely apologetic about the issues. Ilmberger on the other hand I'm far from impressed with.
