Yet another complaint.......

  1. Had mine about two months and love it (recurring theme in these posts) except.....

Just got a speeding ticket - first time in donkeys.....

And I blame the bike for being so much fun (your honour!)

  2. I agree, do you think we could claim for compensation

  3. You need to take it back to the dealer and ask for it to be fixed under warranty.

You need the 'Stealth mode' uploaded to the ECU.

  4. Yeh I understand, just got mine serviced yesterday, now 800miles plus, thought I'd try the sport mode, now I understand why ya got that ticket, boy are these things quick, and I say that with the biggest grin ya can have
    Bloody awsome

  5. I sympathise. One of the reasons I sold my Blackbird and bought an "adventure bike" Multi in May, was that I thought I was bound to get a ticket sooner or later and a Multi might calm me down. Wrong. Within 1000 miles I got nabbed by the gendarmes which cost me 90 euros - bugger! First ticket in 10 years.

  6. 6,000 miles on the clock from new in late April and I've only put mine in sport mode once - when I joined a mate for his MTS test ride. Just can't trust myself, too much fun and I already have six points from my ST days. My mate bought a Caponard by the way. He said it was because it was so much cheaper but I reckon he couldn't trust himself either.

  7. Well they do have more power than a T9R so no surprise it's a beast ;-)

  8. Do you have to declare a French speeding ticket to your insurers?

  9. Does it show on your licence? That'll be a no then :upyeah:

  10. but thats not what they ask...........

They say "have you been convicted of a speeding offence in the last............" Not is it on your licence, not did you get points, not was it in the uk, not even did you attend a speed workshop or not.......

  11. Do foreign speeding fines have a conviction code ? Not sure how insurers adjust loadings without one. That said, unless your an habitual speeding offender, the odd SP30 or two I had made absolutely no difference to my premium.

  12. Do you have to report to your Insurance Company when foreign traffic cops have fleeced you on trumped-up charges? Driving with Foreign Plates, which carries a fine of 100 euros or more? Driving with an English Accent, which could mean a night in the cells? Driving whilst Looking Foreign - cavity search, as a minimum?

These could all affect your premium or, even better, invalidate your insurance (woohoo, money for nothing, ker-ching!).

  13. 160 euro! When I got stopped speeding in Italy last year! Pay on the spot. Ouch!!!

  14. The last one I was hit with was in Germany and that was 260 Euros plus points on a licence I don't have so they'll never expire. They're a devious bunch over there because they can give you points which are recoded against your name but they can't expire until you've got a licence to put them on so habitual offenders beware because eventually your name will be flagged up as hitting the limit and your bike/car stays where it is.

I've got 6 points in the bag over there so I behave when I'm in Germany these days. I even kept my speed down to the posted limits on the B500 yesterday but that may still have been a bit fast because I forgot to change the speedo to display kph

  15. And remember the germans dont know the term fair ie no yellow painted cameras, no distance marks on the road....In fact they can deviously build a speed camera into a building site chevron sign....you wont even see it when standing still!
