Yet Another Newbie From Essex

  1. Hi Guys, thought I would make my first post tonight.

I already have a 1098S which I love, and recently bought a Hypermotard 1100EVO to keep it company in the garage. Its been quite an eventful first week of ownership, on my first ride into work the R&G Tail Tidy snapped in half (definite design fault so beware) resulting in the broken half dropping onto the back wheel and going under the carbon rear hugger. The rear wheel didn't want to go round with this in the way and the bike felt like the brakes had been slammed on. Stopped safely but tail tidy, indicators, number plate and hugger are going in the bin.
Limping home that day after work with the back end of the bike tapped up and white van man decided to pull out on me from a row of stationary traffic. He hit me so hard I smashed his wing mirror with my elbow, but the bike came off worse with a broken hand guard, and shift lever.
They say bad luck comes in three's so I've been riding a bit nervously waiting for a plane to drop on me. Coming round a round-a-bout on Bank Holiday Monday and whilst changing from 3rd to 2nd the shifter stuck down and won't move. A quick Google search suggests it's a common problem, but needs to go back to the dealer to fix. Everyone is saying the bike is jinxed, and get rid of it, but I'm going to persevere as when it was working I loved it!

Bike has been fixed under warranty and is being delivered back to me Friday so now looking forward to the weekend. Had the dealer throw on a set of Termi's while they had it so looking forward to it sounding better too!
