It’s all about the money....Jessie J was wrong all along! Pretty pathetic if true. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/new...on-must-end-yorkshire-post-letters-1-10228084 Mods can ya change the title to correct spelling
It's not just the camera vans as they tend to pop up in the same areas and people who travel regularly to work know where they are - it's far worse. Loads of unmarked cars and bikes staffed with real Police are all over the place catching motorists and bikers. One Sunday last year I saw 3 unmarked Police Cars and a ZZR1400 unmarked too stopped near Seaways Café at the side of the road i na village called Sledmere, all having a natter with each other in the sunshine. It's a small B road in the middle of nowhere, check it out on Street View, only a country house and a handful of houses there.
Give that place I mentioned a google - posh as fook (a bit worse than York itself as you rightly say)
Yer ferkin' idjit - everyone will check it out now, see how fekin' wonderful it is and want to visit - nob
If it’s Posh some local might have put some kind pressure on the local force. Besides, who owns Sledmere Park? But as it’s pointed out in the article, that’s one hell of a lot of tickets they’ve dished out over the whole county. Does feel like targeting easy revenue. The net result is people will stay away from any area like that. Resulting in a fall in income for local businesses.
Seaways is in Humberside not North Yorks The reason that those cops are around there is because Weekend Warriors from West Yorks South Yorks and all places in between use those roads as a racetrack to the coast. I believe at least 5 bikers were killed on those roads last summer Been the same for the last few years the death rate
Why bother catching real criminals with great expense to the taxpayer with the net result zero return, when you can get easier soft targets with their own fat wallets, and will pay their fines on time just to keep their licences/livelihoods on track.
They must be as efficient as the Met, who apparently have solved all the crime in London. They clearly must have done so, as a couple of weeks ago they dedicated 7 officers over at least 2 days to manning one of those Stasi-esque checkpoints where they pull you over so they and the DVLA can go over your car and details with a fine tooth comb. I wasn’t best pleased at having my Uber pulled over and delayed for 15 minutes when trying to make it to pick up my own car from the workshop before closing time and in response, I was proudly/bolshiely told that despite them no-crime-ing thé recent attempted burglary of my ex-wife’s place and refusing to properly investigate the campaign of harassment and vandalism my daughter suffered in October and November (both due to lack of resources) their road block had caught a disqualified driver the day before. I’m sure everyone will agree that dedicating 224 officer hours/5.6 officer weeks and annoying and inconveniencing hundreds of drivers (thousands if you count the ones delayed by the resulting traffic jams) to catch one disqualified driver was a really intelligent use of resources.
Thats such a total and complete waste of time. Not only did they not achieve enough to justify their time, they annoyed so many people who will think twice before aiding the police, or showing them any respect. On a side note when you next see a policeman or woman, if the time is right, mention to them that there are great oppourtunities to do nothing and get paid in Staffordshire. I honestly haven't seen a policeman or a police vehicle for more than a year, and I drive 20K plus a year. The bill for them on the council tax I noted has increased over last year so they must still exist?
Waste of space. The Police are just used for crowd control these days, that and hassling motorists. Not interested in real crime or prevention. Maybe Boris can do something useful with his majority and change this...but I doubt it.
