1200 Exhaust Change & Remap

Discussion in 'Monster' started by gazza77, Mar 15, 2017.

  1. Has anyone fitting a slip-on (SC Project twin in my case) bothered with a remap? Does it make any difference to thinking if baffles are in or out?

  2. Post deleted because it was an absolute load of crap. My brain didn't take any notice of what my eyes were looking at. Andy

  3. Isn't the cat an integral part of the OE silencer on the 1200?

  4. My apologies, just ignore me, read Monster but brain saw Multistrada :Bag:. Andy

  5. Hi gazza. A good question.
I recently changed out my cans to termis and ran for about 50miles on the old map settings. The bike was very "poppy", raw feeling and had a slight backfire on overrun.
Since getting the map key sorted, it does seem smoother all round.. but in my opinion is Fricken Loud with the baffles out.
I guess the fueling update (or whatever settings are changed) are general settings and could be refined some by specialists in that area.

I know some years back we were playing about with custom titanium exhausts on a 916 race bike..
Crazy how an inch either way in your splitter can Have an effect... which makes me think that baffles in and out also must do?

  6. I hear the ecu on the 1200R is very hard to crack as it's well encrypted.

That said I've fitted an Arrow can (and left the db killer in) and it runs just fine, no issues that I can identify.
