848 Quickshifter Wire Loom Question

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by Chris2511, Feb 24, 2017.

  1. Hi all

Currently fitting my HM Plus SS quickshifter to my 848 as I type[IMG][IMG]

And plugged in the new loom tired to start it up just to check it's correct and it won't fire up

Plugged the OEM loom back in and fires up

1 question I have is what is this extra lead I have at one end??? Does it matter if this is on the rear cylinder or front ? Can't see where else it plugs into

    Cheers for a quick response

  8. That 'spare' connector look like it was the one the shifter goes in.

  12. It's the Plus SS with a black box mate ?

It should count down from 5.4.3.2.1 then go into set up mode

But it's getting to 4 then just going to blank screen again

Something is telling me the earth isn't good

  13. Sounds like it works the same as mine... Give me a min I'll just pop in the garage and check.... Try taking a cable from your earth point straight to the battery... While in checking...

  14. I have a very vague memory that mines does the same run down, I checked with HM and it's a peculiarity of the way Ducati's power up. IIRC
Put the bike on a paddock stand and try putting it through the gears without the clutch.

  15. Mine only counts down when I hold my finger down on the button and switch the ignition on... But it is on a z1ooo....

  18. The spark plugs are only live for few seconds when turn ignition on.
You need to keep little button pressed on unit and start bike. Plugs are live again and will count down to 0 and let go to enter set up mode

  20. I personally wouldn't worry about set-up right now. It should be plug and play.
