Taken The Plunge

Discussion in 'Newbies Hangout' started by RearGunner, Feb 16, 2017.

  1. Hi All
I've finally taken the plunge and bought myself a Ducati 999 2004. I've always been a big fan of Ducati but never had an opportunity of owning one until now so any advice would be welcome.
    Thanks
    Brad

1st on the list is a cable kit from @Exige, so it starts properly... ;)

  6. Hi. Enjoy her, love her, please her.

  7. Funny you should say about the starting old rider, went to start her this morning, very sluggish turning over not enough a amps I think. What does the kit include?

  8. hello there

  9. Welcome! Also waiting for the pics :)

  10. Do the kit, the relay behind the battery and have a load test on the battery. Once you've done that you've only the sprag clutch to worry about!

  11. Pictures to follow, when I've stopped touching and feeling it...

  12. Use the fast idle on the left handle bar in cold weather.

  13. Had trouble this morning starting it, ended up I didn't need any choke at all....

  14. When I jump started it it fired up straight away with no choke (fast idle)

  15. Hi and congrats on buying the best looking bike Ducati have ever made IMveryHO.
Its a true work of art on wheels, BUT it can be improved.
Since buying mine I have fitted
    Uprated cables
    R1 throttle tube
    Oberon clutch slave
    +2 rear sprocket
    Quiet clutch mod.
Hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.
Don't forget these bikes don't have faults, they have character
