  8. As I’m sure you know I’ve been looking a long while ...

    Am I missing something with this one? 916sps £9k the only non genuine things I can pick up is ... I think for year it should be 3 spikes and there’s a strange lump on the air box on the right side? Repair maybe.. nose and tail with blue decals too.. low mileage... too good to be true ?

Wheels are not original, mono seat paint and decals are not original, lower fairing half black is not original, the original steering damper wouldn’t have been Ohlins and yes, the top yoke seems to be missing the rivet holes that would have been where the SPS plaque was fitted. I’m also not sure that 1998 might have been too early for the 65mm caliper mounting spacing but there are pictures on the internet showing both. The blob on the air box looks like a mushroom head Allen bolt and definitely shouldn’t be there. If it were me, I’d be waiting a little bit longer for something requiring less work to put back into original condition. Andy

  16. The early 916 sps 97/98 plaques were glued or had a very sticky pad to attached to the yoke,so no holes required:upyeah: FACT!
