1198 1198r Crankshaft

  2. Not likely. 1098R cases are like rocking horse poo.

    The 1098R engine is a masterpiece. But as you said, crankshaft will require balancing and OE Pankl Ti conrods. Moto Rapido balance crankshafts and they also super finish the gearbox, which is worth having done. 1098R crankshafts can snap too. Personally I'd be trying to source a 1098R lump instead of cobbling together a bitsa.

  5. Good find. If I were OP I'd buy that. If it's available that is. What's the date stamp? They ain't for free though eh?
     
  6. I was told they were rare as.... If that's true then that should be snapped up sharpish!
     
  7. Quite right Mary/Rik, a bargain, just did a recce and a crankcase pair for 1198R (22521891C) is on average around 4.5K - found 1 pair at 3.8.

  8. Just a small update from my side, on this moment the sand carter/ crank case and 1198R crankshaft Will be installed in my 1198 engine:cool::cool:

  9. did you get the crank rods pistons balanced...what pistons are you using?

  11. and by the look of it you kept the std gearbox.....
