Well on the way to Glossop we came across a bad bike accident (two bikes strewn across the road and police, ambulances in attendance) so we turned around and headed back into Yorkshire. Anyway when we eventually stopped for a coffee I quizzed him about his police career, as it struck me he rode like the IAM instructor yesterday. Anyway he wasn’t a police rider but had been a police tactical car driver. And it seems once a copper always a copper and he can’t get past breaking a speed limit (unless I guess he is in pursuit of a baddy )
I said to the wife at lunchtime " Ethel, it's so feckin' hot today, what do you think the neighbours would think if I mowed the lawn in the nude?" "That I must've married you for your sense of humour....."
Life's too short waiting on this storm to set sail,so cocked a leg over the paul smart for a mad dash & creamed my pants...........happy again for the moment
Lazy morning followed by a couple of drinks next to Falls of Dochart at Killin then off for a quick 9 holes, maybe put a line out later depending on how much beer gets drunk.
Today I: 1. Fitted a set of Evotech crash bungs to the Monster. I don’t really like the look of them but after seeing how little damage @dubcat ’s bike suffered when he dropped it in the Picos I thought I ought to. The instructions never mentioned about the engine dropping in the frame when the original engine bolt is knocked out 2. I fitted the loops for a Kriega US30 to the Monster for my upcoming tour of the UK. It’s a great piece of kit 3. I made a very crude crud catcher for the Monster to save me getting all mucky on my trip - it’s bound to rain at some stage . Not aesthetically the best but with the Evotech tail tidy that’s on the bike it’ll save me and my new Kriega bag getting covered in shite. 4. I replaced the crankcase covers on the 748, having taken them off 2 months ago to repaint. 5. I started to check the valve clearances on the 748 whilst the rocker & camshaft covers are all off and the bike’s in pieces. So far so good . All in all a good day in the garage
