It's perfect timing. remainers always were fixated on the ability to create our own deals with, "we will only deal with Trump". This event is a timely reminder however just how much our deals must include America but continue to include the world market also and not just one part.

As to the eu, they need us more than ever.

The UK may be in the top 3 European oil producers but what we produce is much less than consumption, we are as reliant on Middle East oil as every other European country.

 

I doubt they will be saying, your a european ship, get your own protection , we don't need the european project to remain friends with our fellow europeans
