British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Who will prove to be the real allies? Im fairly sure its not that long since we finished paying off the war dept to the USA.

Trump will continue his games, we are nothing to him. Big trade deals after Brexit with the US a bit cloud cuckoo land.

  2. It's perfect timing. remainers always were fixated on the ability to create our own deals with, "we will only deal with Trump". This event is a timely reminder however just how much our deals must include America but continue to include the world market also and not just one part.

As to the eu, they need us more than ever.

    I cite https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/the-top-oil-producing-nations-in-europe.html

Look at the top 3 oil producing nations in europe, Russia, Norway then us (yes the U.K. fin :D)

    Then look at europes production

Rank Country name Oil production (thousand tonnes per year)
    1 Russia 540,700
    2 Norway 88,000
    3 United Kingdom 45,300
    4 Denmark 7,700
    5 Italy 5,500
    6 Romania 4,000
    7 Ukraine 3,000
    8 Germany 2,400
    9 Turkey 2,300
    10 Netherlands 2,000

Europe is heavily reliant on middle eastern oil because they produce in relative terms, jack shit.

So the idea that once again the U.K.'s navy are down their protecting the routes going to the eu whilst the eu currently does fuck all will surprise no leaver. We do not need to be part of the eu project to help our european friends out

Germany's okay though due to the Nordstrom 2 pipeline for oil and gas for them from...Russia :D The Russians baddies they say they need a european army for :D

  3. Gosh is this thread still going on ;) I predict it will last well beyond 31st Oct.

The UK may be in the top 3 European oil producers but what we produce is much less than consumption, we are as reliant on Middle East oil as every other European country.

  4. The UK is protecting its own supply chain. Nothing more, nothing less.

  5. Yes, by what was Scottish and Newcastle Brewereries Ltd. and they are Registered in Scotland (So contribute to Scottish GDP): but don’t imagine there isn’t a sizeable licence fee paid to Heineken for use of their branding.

  6. I doubt they will be saying, your a european ship, get your own protection :D, we don't need the european project to remain friends with our fellow europeans

And will continue to be for a generation, by which time most on here will be pushing up daisies and wont have to suffer the consequences any more.

  12. Things are looking up surely ?

Wasn't long ago we were all going to be living in caves and fighting over the last slice of bread, now it's Macdonalds - just a big queue.

  16. "The attempt to turn every subjectively felt personal issue into a collective cause with a collective action has hatched a brutal form of identity politics that has generated no end to social conflict, with vast carnage along the way."

  17. Not sure if that'a looking up, I was looking forward to stringing my bow and whittling some arrows, of an evening in preparation for the next's day hunt. Endless queues for a MaccyD you can't afford is a poor alternative :(

  18. What you got? I’ve a Jennings Sidekick Grizzly Compound Hunting Bow, a Yamaha YTSL2 and an old English Longbow o_O

  19. Brexit what happens next? Well, Boris wins the race to PM and in true Dukey analytical style: the pound surges against the euro :joy:
