and once the sprocket is off he will be able to fix that too. its a method i have used to free seized wheels on hubs. i'm guessing the sprocket bolts will be renewed too so i would leave them in loose.
With the couple I had to cut off, I found it necessary to remove a section (sector) like a pizza slice. This removed the tension on the sprocket and it fell off.
Yes, more like an alternator case puller. You’ve already got a template for the hole centres as it’s the same as the lock washer. Wind it tight then tap it with a big hammer. Make sure there’s something soft to land on!
Aha, Thurs (ie today) became Wednesday as the family had different plans for me for Thursday (ie today). Although as I type I’m trying to work out a way I can get back into the garage to attack it again. As far as Im aware I’ve never been buggered but good idea I just might have to play with the order of words
Yep, this is all the fault of Brexit. I have given the sprocket more than enough time to leave but it refuses to do so. No more negotiations! As you will see from the picture of a recent survey (to be posted below) it is split into 2 distinct camps roughly along the lines 52/48 but still flatly refuses to leave
