British Indy: What Happens Now?

Discussion in 'Wasteland' started by Loz, May 23, 2015.

?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. If the Government won't let us Remain, it is down to concerned citizens to make it happen.

  2. The benn act demands that the prime minister asks for an extension, he said tonight he will not negotiate an extension are you sure they are the same thing?

  3. For the court is it not a simple has Johnson broken the law. If he doesn’t send a letter asking for an extension then he has surely.
In which case is he ‘sacked’ ?
I’d have thought the Eu want this over with as much as we do, but what choice do they have really - it must be better (easier ?) for the EU if the U.K. leaves with a deal.

  4. yip, I would be surprised if there was any love left from the big players of the EU (of which we where one) for us remaining. and I don't have a clue what will be the outcome of todays events. I only know that cherry will take it as far as she can.

  5. I think it would probably p1ss them off more if the U.K. revoked article 50 now.

  6. Maybe, but, the eu have been playing with a 50/50 stacked deck.

The best way to end this is to create chaos in the eu by doing absolutely nothing other than let the remainers in the British parliament create uncertainty, economic instability and political upheaval in the european project.

This then increases the pressure on the eu so rejecting certainly any extension and at somepoint a "leave without a deal is less worst than years of instability in europe". We are after all still paying eu fee's till December 2020

Also, Ireland had postponed their general election this year to get brexit done, if it is not done then ireland will have to have a general election soon which might see varadkar out

  7. He writes a letter knowing they will say no to ?

  8. I think your right Al. I cant see how having an emboldened Farrage and tory MEP's in that place could benefit us. sorry, them now.

  9. No, but prevented many from doing so :innocent:

  10. I'd be surprised if the letter he writes is the one expected, this is currently doing the rounds

This would fall inline with what I said earlier about Possibly Bercow having to send it and so being the enemy of democracy and undermining democratic votes

  11. I’d have thought the EU would only agree to an extension now if it was for a second referendum or similar

  12. enemy of democracy? lies, complicit media, election fraud, loopholes that allow the use of dark money, dishonest PM's, leaders that think they are above the law. that is the enemy of democracy.

  13. I think you should let them do their thing.

  14. They needs looking after dude

  15. I’d like to know the solution.

  16. I have one. one that will go a long way to delivering one for you. but there is none to be had in the current system we have to endure.

  17. And what are the chances of changing the system

  18. dunno. two of three main UK partys (except the one nation party, I think) have been promising electoral reform since the year dot. how many chances are you supposed to give them?
i'm not advocating militant action and I don't see anybody coming through that can achieve any change in that area via the ballot box. not for yous anyway.

  19. I have heard that he will send the letter required by law, but will not sign it. He will also not talk to the EU on the subject.

What he actually said was "I will not negotiate a delay with the EU", he never said he would not send the letter. So the EU sits there with an unsigned letter and nobody to negotiate a delay with. The EU always said that if they were to grant an extension, they would need a good reason to do so. Nobody is going to speak to them, so who gives them this good reason?

Everyone replying in parliament and the media were screaming that he has said he would break the law, he hasn't. They should have listened more dilligently.

More argy bargy in Parliament this week I think.
