Maybe, but, the eu have been playing with a 50/50 stacked deck. The best way to end this is to create chaos in the eu by doing absolutely nothing other than let the remainers in the British parliament create uncertainty, economic instability and political upheaval in the european project. This then increases the pressure on the eu so rejecting certainly any extension and at somepoint a "leave without a deal is less worst than years of instability in europe". We are after all still paying eu fee's till December 2020 Also, Ireland had postponed their general election this year to get brexit done, if it is not done then ireland will have to have a general election soon which might see varadkar out

I'd be surprised if the letter he writes is the one expected, this is currently doing the rounds This would fall inline with what I said earlier about Possibly Bercow having to send it and so being the enemy of democracy and undermining democratic votes
I’d have thought the EU would only agree to an extension now if it was for a second referendum or similar

dunno. two of three main UK partys (except the one nation party, I think) have been promising electoral reform since the year dot. how many chances are you supposed to give them? i'm not advocating militant action and I don't see anybody coming through that can achieve any change in that area via the ballot box. not for yous anyway.
I have heard that he will send the letter required by law, but will not sign it. He will also not talk to the EU on the subject. What he actually said was "I will not negotiate a delay with the EU", he never said he would not send the letter. So the EU sits there with an unsigned letter and nobody to negotiate a delay with. The EU always said that if they were to grant an extension, they would need a good reason to do so. Nobody is going to speak to them, so who gives them this good reason? Everyone replying in parliament and the media were screaming that he has said he would break the law, he hasn't. They should have listened more dilligently.
