?
  1. Full Brexit with "no EU deal" on the 29th March.

  2. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a general election and new negotiations.

  3. Request Extension to article 50 to allow cross party talks and a new deal to be put to EU.

  4. Request Extension to article 50 to allow a second referendum on 1. Remain in EU or 2. Full Brexit.

  5. Table a motion in parliament to Remain in EU WITHOUT a referendum.

  6. I don't know or I don't care anymore

Results are only viewable after voting.
  1. Both parties “say” they will invest.
That is not a question. Labour plans will invest in the NHS, not outsourced services.
Long term saving as explained to you.
    Outsourcing though is NOT investment.
    Its just a cost.
This has been explained as well.
Continue to argue a “point” as you wish, it doesnt change anything.

  2. Surely using outsourced services can’t be seen as investing.

Unless you mean politicians outsourcing services to their friends

  3. ‘A Labour government will invest in the NHS to give patients the modern, well- resourced services they need. We will increase expenditure across the health sector by an average 4.3% a year.’ They have also promised a very long list of things they shall achieve in the NHS with that money.

  4. And now we go back full circle to John Mcdonnells interview this morning

When put to him that nationalisation is not costed anywhere but they keep raising the expectations whilst saying 95% will pay no extra taxes, they used the nhs example this morning.

Marr again, used, across the car park of a hospital is a private hospital and say in this case , specialising in knee surgery of which nhs was one of it's customers.

If they said to that private hospital no nhs work for you when our contract runs out, mcdonnells simple explanation was we have the workforce already being paid for so we simply transfer them over

Ignoring many of the staff in private have already left the nhs to go to private but more importantly that he saw this as a zero cost transfer of work, that is how he see's it, let the contract run out, throw extra work at a hospital without enough staff, equipment or property and that will help as there will be no cost

This simply is not achievable, they will either have to build and have ready from day one of nhs takeover, a new building fully kitted out with all the required equipment or, have bought that private hospital and it's equipment, Both have a cost that Mcdonnell refuses to admit will be there.

  5. Aren’t some of the private services using NHS facilities though ?

I thought, for example our local MRI center is just run by a private company but the buildings are existing NHS ones.

  6. They have :D page 32 of their manifesto....We will ensure our NHS becomes a netzero-carbon service with an NHS Forest of one million trees

  7. Some are, yes. my own mri is nhs. On those cases then next logical question would be is the equipment nhs and to what extent are the private companies involved? Mcdonells expectation as described this morning was that from day one of the shutting out private services, the private companies are simply just going to hand over staff, property and equipment for free because that is the only way it could be done for nothing

  8. @Loz @noobie

    Tell me about uncontrolled immigration

  9. certainly too many question I don’t know the answer to, perhaps nowadays it’s wishful thinking that some directors somewhere aren’t making big money from the NHS etc.

  10. I certainly believe we won't again see the likes of PFI destroying Our NHS, should a Labour Government get in.

    Fecking Tories grrrr ...

  11. hmm, get used to that. an American talking about our nhs.

  12. yes noob, 0.6 % of the nhs budget goes on management and IT outsourcing. not to shabby considering the size of our nhs compared to yours
    7% in England.
I.T. guys wont be influencing the price of medicine, or promoting private health care.

  13. I don’t like Corbyn at all. He will be a terrible prime minister and his behaviour over anti Semitism and the Salisbury poisonings amongst other things has been deplorable.

having said that, he is the only UK party leader with a sensible view on Brexit.

    let’s look at history

Cameron campaigns to remain and lost. Said he would implement it but resigned.

May campaigned to remain and was criticised by pro leave groups for not being the LEAVE enough. She had to resign

BJ inherits being PM and gets criticised for not being elected in a general election so shortly afterwards we get another election

Farage, Mogg etc all said a second referendum would be a good idea

so if Corbyn picks a side and loses, then what ?

    another general election?

he has one vote, no more than anyone on this board. This isn’t NI in 1969 when some people get more than one vote and some people get no vote.

  14. my local MRI is privately owned and operated under contract to the NHS.

it’s run by sullen, disinterested children, which concerns me

  15. ferk knows why wee are even talking about the NHS. the NHS isn't a concern for brexiteers. Brexit is the only policy they are interested in.

  16. I’m not sure about Corbyns public Brexit view, and still think it would be interesting to know what he really thinks (leave or stay).

The whole Brexit thing looks like some bizarre film script, with Boris saving the day for the majority (joke).

Would people think better of him if he picked a side ?
what if he picked the ‘losing’ side but carried on and did what had been voted for ?

  17. A free marketeer like @Loz would privatise the NHS since he doesn’t believe in socialism.

he doesn’t believe in the socialist principle of sharing risk, even though a big chunk of City of London capitalism is based on this concept, AKA insurance

  18. I'd like to think that Corbyn, or any politician, would pick "the side" of the majority of the voting public, in a functioning democracy.

Ah. I see the problem now.

  19. i'm pretty sure any Brexit proposal put forward was lost with the help of the party in government.
