Not sure I agree that the wheels are stock. They look nothing like my stock OE Ohlins 748R Marchesini wheels which are grey. Andy
I’d attach a picture of mine but it’s locked up in MR. I don’t recognise the colour of your mate’s wheel but it’s definitely aluminium, the number of balance weights give it away. Andy
I always thought the mag wheels had flat faced spokes and were a square section spoke without the cut out due to strength but happy to be corrected, another thread also I love a 748r
No, you are correct, found a picture of my magnesium Marchesinis and the spokes of the rear are as you describe, flat. Every day is a school day Andy
Just noticed it has an RS high capacity oil cooler. Looking more and more like you have hit the nail on the head. Andy
Wonder if it's an 'RS' motor? difference being cylinder head being even more extreme in terms of Valve profile but I believe the Conrods and bottom end was the same between the later R (Pankel rods) and the RS? It's where my knowledge gets hazy as I never needed to know about the RS other than reading the Sigma article. It's in race shift though, has no traditional gear shift.... call me inspector bored-captive.
Give away would be the belt covers or lack of belt covers. 748R belts are 22mm wide which is why the R belt covers stand off which leaves a 5mm gap. The 748RS belts are 19mm wide and runs without belt covers. Not totally sure without checking but I don’t think the RS set up has mounts for belt covers. Andy
That is very cheap, not any sort of CAT, actually all the bikes on his site are well under standard prices. Aprillia RSV for just over 5k
I wonder if the Auction is going ahead with no viewing / attending big risk at that money if it needs new rotor tips...
Telephone auction only maybe or just not the audience on the day as you say & cancel for better times.
