    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  2. Thank you kindly sir! We should have been getting married tomorrow, but that's got to happen later on now...

  3. I've been messing about with aluminium plate recently making some brackety type stuff and as the bracket is now £150 I may have had a bash. When I did the conversion, £100 seemed OK and I hadn't done as much with plate. We also have a plasma cutter at work, so I could have had a very nice one made if I had put a bit of effort in. :innocent:

  4. lol... well this may be the best test you will ever face dude. if all is peachy after im sure you will have a happy life together. i hope you do and look forward to seeing the wedding pics! (as long as there are bikes involved obviously) sorry you missed ya big day bro.

  5. I trimmed it down a touch and painted it black. Also with a place for the overflow bottle..

  6. Just out of curiosity, why do both of the bracket solutions have the mosfet mounted plugs up?
Is it to do with cable lengths dictating routing?

  7. I put mine that way as when I plugged in the Triumph loom, it seemed to work better to route the cables.

  9. Okay....Wow

  10. If you read the installation link I posted, the 1098R one I did was in the same place as your 1198. The conversion moves it to the RHS of the bike in a cooler location.

  11. Puzzled to see a lot of fellow members commented without looking at the pictures properly.
I am not saying lithium batteries are "risk free" on older bikes......quite the opposite, but in this particular case it is clearly visible that the battery is intact and couple of cables melted due to either bad earth or rectifier failure.

  12. Yes, I think you are correct, The title is a little bit "click bait ish" but I wanted to create a bit of atmosphere...get people chatting and find opinions. The battery didn't suffer at all, I just wondered if it helped or caused the overheating? I have heard from people that there is no way these should be fitted, so it's great to hear from others.
    It's been an informative journey

  13. Thanks for that mate, very helpful.
Might keep that for another time and just put this all back together for a start and see how it all goes. I'll definitely be using a Yuasa battery tho.
