1200 DVT Code Reader / Diagnostic Tool

  1. ok so cables arrived and I've plugged them into the laptop in com port 6 (which is the one my laptop uses for its only usb port. I get as far as it saying connecting on the screen and then it just sits there, I reckon I probably have bought some rubbish cables

  2. Search YouTube for some vids - might help

  3. My mechanic bought a Texa Navigator so he could access the Multistradas. It allows you to do things like a TPS/TBS reset and an Auto Parameters reset amongst other stuff. AFAIK, only the official Ducati diagnostic and the Texa can do this stuff.

  4. Ok guys quick update I couldn’t get the Ducati software to work with the units I bought however the odb unit did come with software on a cd rom so popped that onto the laptop and plugged her in
The unit showed codes (see photo) and a few other options as well including reset eml light

I didn’t do the reset as I’ve got a Ducati dealer replacing the o2 sensor as their system said it had failed permanently and didn’t want to skew any results they had however the fault code is pretty accurate, I may need to muck about a bit more to get the Jpdiag stuff working with this unit but the fact that it talks to the bikes ecu and retrieved fault codes means it does work up to a point

  6. Usually just minutes if you sent him the correct details

  7. I got a license. Connect. I cleared the errors, but can't reset the services. Is it normal for the 2016 multistrada enduro? DVT? Bike is not supported.

  8. It is yes, the dvt and onwards needs “special” software, of which I know a little as chatting to the supplier, see other thread.

  9. Yeah, sadly thats all you can do with the freebie software. Its better than nothing but certainly not comprehensive. Worth the 20 quid in leads mind :)

  11. I purchased a Motorscan 6050 which will do everything that we all need. Reset services, read and clear closes etc. I purchased the Ducat licenced version only including the lead for just under £1K

  12. Where from - do you have a link ?

  13. £1k!
More expensive than just getting your bike serviced at a dealer

  14. Yes but I wish to service and look after my own bike. Wouldn’t take many services at a Ducati workshop to get my money back. Even a simple yearly service is over £200 which is a glorified oil change!

  15. Sure, good for you but that’s an expensive way of servicing your own bike and good luck when you have a problem you can’t fix and take it to Ducati.

I could understand something priced at a couple of hundred pounds but this seems like a hell of a lot for an individual to buy unless you are an independent mechanic.

Are you connected with this company?

  17. Hi thanks for the info. So any ideas on generally how long does it take them to get back to you with the license? Is it a matter of hours or days? Just wondering so I can set my expectations accordingly. I sent it in last night.

  18. Usually minutes or hours at the most. Depends when he is online of course :)
