  6. After finding a small oil drip on my sons MV F3 675 from the sump drain plug.
    IMG-20200611-WA0001.jpg
He fitted a new copper washer, still dripped, fitted a fibre washer and a smear of gasket sealer, still no luck, it took a couple of days to appear. Today I decided to try and sort it once and for all. On removal of the plug and close inspection I could see a ring of unmachined material around the head.
IMG_20200617_141759.jpg A closer look revealed it was a crack, possibly due to over tightening by a previous owner, it is made of alloy and the flange is very thin.
    IMG_20200617_141804.jpg
A little tap and it came apart. Hopefully this new plug with a bigger head should solve the issue.

    Yes I did say flange.

  7. Today I 'ave been mostly sniggering at Birdie's use of the word "flange" :p Other than that, procrastinating. A lot. And that's pretty much why I'm here. :D

  19. They are so important those little buggers! Where I am building at the moment is surrounded by manuka trees or tea trees as they are known in OZ. They are a long time flowering and irresistable to bees so it is nice to actually see them there. The manuka honey is worth moonbeams as well as it is very dark and has some excellent healing properties. In fact, if you get a burn you can get manuka honey on prescription, which means it is basically free!
