  1. Have you considered simply papering it,
    Maybe a lining paper first.

  2. It's not my ceiling and he wanted it plastered, but the acid test is was it worth all that effort or not when it dries in a few days time..

  3. The blue grit stuff got past me, what is it?

  4. Basically a very posh PVA with grit thrown in for good measure.

  7. I always recommend to customers to overboard downstairs ceilings, been called out to a few where they have been skimmed over and its not bonded properly. Although the gritty pva is pretty good

  8. Agreed. The houses I renovate, that are empty, I pull the old ceilings down and re-board. I wouldn't like to do that in an occupied house though.

  9. It's a bungalow so no foot traffic upstairs only rodents.:upyeah:

  10. I done that a few times over the years and what a filthy job it's too.:mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask::mask:

  11. Tell me about it. I've got at least 4 ceilings to do on a property I'm buying at the moment as they are artexed. I've got a labourer now though so I might just be loading the skip when the dust settles. :D

  17. Many thanks...but where’s my new Ducati???

  18. You have to behave for one of those

  19. I just completed one of the annual car insurance renewal dances..
    • Receive renewal quote: up by 25%
    • Check comparison sites to get some leverage
    • 1 phone call: now the quote is less than last year..
Why make me go through this every time? i can only fathom enough people just accept/don't even look at it to make it profitable for them or actually incentivises people to call up and confess about convictions, accidents etc. can't work it out: the savings are significant so does that make it a good use of my time even though it should be unnecessary?
