2008 1098r Vs 2016 1199r

  1. @bootsam :joy: love it mate/ the more I am weighing it up the more I am thinking 1098R. Most of my riding will be roads also and like you say crazy power where you want it. Loved my kitted 1098S so can only imagine how good the R is....?

Anyone jumped from a 1098S to an R? Just how much better is it and what are the noticeable differences? Presuming the additional price tag warrants it.

    Cheers A

  2. You’ll have a lot more power. Probably 150 on your 1098 vs the R will be easy 180. Full system, custom map, 195. And 100lb ft....!

  9. I do wonder if some of the larger numbers are ‘calculated’ as crank rather than rwhp

  10. Dyno numbers are all relative anyhoo. Whats more important is decent curves without the dips and troughs.

  14. Just a FYI
It doesn't really matter whether it's a 1098r with 180 or a Pani r with 200 ish - if the nuts loose on the seat - enjoy

  15. Government has been doing that for years.

  16. Massaging BHP figures for

  17. Like many others have said the 1098r is a beast . I’m not saying the Pani isn’t as I only own the former but being older the 1098 is way less controlled and as such you get the full experience of a 180 bhp twin. Nothing is left out.
For me it’s actually a bit too much on the road , hard suspension and aggressive engine making the ride .....involving shall we say.
Hairy arsed might be a good description.
