@bootsam love it mate/ the more I am weighing it up the more I am thinking 1098R. Most of my riding will be roads also and like you say crazy power where you want it. Loved my kitted 1098S so can only imagine how good the R is....? Anyone jumped from a 1098S to an R? Just how much better is it and what are the noticeable differences? Presuming the additional price tag warrants it. Cheers A
You’ll have a lot more power. Probably 150 on your 1098 vs the R will be easy 180. Full system, custom map, 195. And 100lb ft....!
@Adrian Stephen Bygott i have sent you a WhatsApp mate! Mine has a Wilf at MotoRapido remap, the graph is at home, think it was around 190bhp.
Sorry yep - I was under the impression there was little Engine work on the 1299R but I was wrong apologies- same spec engine as 1199R with more cc
Dyno numbers are all relative anyhoo. Whats more important is decent curves without the dips and troughs.
Oh yeah... I bet all the Dynos in the uk get sick of you always being there on the odd occasion they have put a 1098R on there...
Good move Mike. Wilf is the man for that caper.... What a machine that is.... GLWS, new owner’s in for a treat with that bad boy Hope they like doing wheelies
Just a FYI It doesn't really matter whether it's a 1098r with 180 or a Pani r with 200 ish - if the nuts loose on the seat - enjoy
Like many others have said the 1098r is a beast . I’m not saying the Pani isn’t as I only own the former but being older the 1098 is way less controlled and as such you get the full experience of a 180 bhp twin. Nothing is left out. For me it’s actually a bit too much on the road , hard suspension and aggressive engine making the ride .....involving shall we say. Hairy arsed might be a good description.
