On Friday, I hope to go to eCycle in Stroud. I exercise bike every day and I am thinking that I really should start getting out. And the DVLA bastids can't stop me! I have a mountain bike that I can try to sort our (just flat tyres) but I want to be able to go a bit further. I am going to try one of these, as I am unsure about what frame size I should get, but this could be fun!
Crashed in a group ride at about 15 miles an hour the other day, top tip is dont skimp on kit. Endura Pro SL gloves and not a mark on my palm.
The local council have recently closed this road to motor vehicles, it's only about 3 miles, but it's nice just to cruise up and down in the evenings as slow as you can and take in the scenery . Word is spreading though, there's more and more very serious cycling ninjas turning up and training on it. View attachment 246531
Not been out on the road bike for months and months, think I’m loosing my Mojo for it ? Seriously off the pace and I’m feeling like every car is trying to kill me The bridge over the Tees at Lower Dinsdale… Did enjoy riding the bike though, you forget how fast these things are compared to the MTB. Sunny days only and quiet roads from now on
I only ever ride quiet lanes these days, which luckily for me are plentiful around my area. TBH I find it baffling when I see cyclists on main A trunk roads when I know that a pleasant quiet road is running generally in the same direction. It would seem some think they’re invincible or an accident will never happen to them.
Nice cannondale pal I've not had a road bike for over 20 years, many years on MTB 's obviously. But, I'm mulling the idea of a roadie, just for extra spins. It would exclusively be on quiet country lanes. I too cannot get my head round the logic of peddling on busy A roads.
Same here. Even on the quite roads I ride I'll also wear something high vis , I've spend enough time in A&E thanks. I really don't get these 'serious' cyclists that go out dressed as stealth frogmen...
