  6. On Friday, I hope to go to eCycle in Stroud. I exercise bike every day and I am thinking that I really should start getting out. And the DVLA bastids can't stop me!

I have a mountain bike that I can try to sort our (just flat tyres) but I want to be able to go a bit further. I am going to try one of these, as I am unsure about what frame size I should get, but this could be fun!

  8. The local council have recently closed this road to motor vehicles, it's only about 3 miles, but it's nice just to cruise up and down in the evenings as slow as you can and take in the scenery . Word is spreading though, there's more and more very serious cycling ninjas turning up and training on it.

  9. First pedal in virtually two weeks. 20 miles felt like 40.
    Fields of gold look nice.

Did enjoy riding the bike though, you forget how fast these things are compared to the MTB.

Sunny days only and quiet roads from now on :upyeah:

  13. I only ever ride quiet lanes these days, which luckily for me are plentiful around my area. TBH I find it baffling when I see cyclists on main A trunk roads when I know that a pleasant quiet road is running generally in the same direction.

It would seem some think they’re invincible or an accident will never happen to them.

  17. Nice cannondale pal :upyeah:

I've not had a road bike for over 20 years, many years on MTB 's obviously. But, I'm mulling the idea of a roadie, just for extra spins. It would exclusively be on quiet country lanes. I too cannot get my head round the logic of peddling on busy A roads.

  18. Same here. Even on the quite roads I ride I'll also wear something high vis , I've spend enough time in A&E thanks.
I really don't get these 'serious' cyclists that go out dressed as stealth frogmen...:eyes:
