V4 Update Software Ducati Connect

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Maserati, Oct 7, 2021.

  1. I was told by a dealer today that it auto cancels (ie returns to normal) once you hit 59mph. He also didn't think the Pikes Peak with Ohlins would have this feature. Hoping that's not true as having this in town on a commute would be great

  3. Saw this in action yesterday and sat on the demo bike whilst the suspension lowered itself. Its not a massive difference but did allow me to almost flat foot in the standard seat.

  4. Yeah, you can see on the video it barely moves, but any help is help for shorter legged riders! What I still want to know is whether this feature is also present on the PP. My dealer guesses it isn't, but stressed it's just a guess.

  5. My guess is it wont have it either as the V4S has Mazzochi sussies & software, whereas the PeePee has Ohlins. PS I CBA to learn how to spelk Mazzochi

  6. I'm getting the software upgrade applied on Saturday morning and will feedback once installed. Whilst the Ducati Connect and improved heated grips functionality will apply to the Pikes Peak, I suspect the suspension adjustments will likely only apply to the Marzocchi skyhook suspension on the V4S. I'll ask the question though.

  7. No, the PP does not have that function

  8. So went for a 130 mile blat around the Yorkshire Dales (lovely day and snowy over tops) today before heading to Leeds Ducati for the software update this afternoon. Took about an hour to complete and just makes the system much more usable…

    - Can control headset volume for Intercom, Navigation and music directly via the joypad.
    - No more faffing in sub menus for heated grips. Simply push button on bar once, twice or three times for the setting needed.
    - Option to keep connect alive for 20 mins when bike is switched off (big improvement!)
    - Minimum suspension preload works well and is quite noticeable - works up to 65/70 mph then automatically goes into the preset height mode selected. It doesn’t return back to minimum height automatically. Need to hold the suspension button down to engage minimum height et (at less than 70mph)…

Overall good updates and well worth having.

What a bike on those roads! Full Akra makes such a difference as does fitting a lighter 1kg Shido battery!!

  9. Nice one. It’d be good if the heated grips button also controlled the heated seat, as I’m guessing you still need to go into the menus to turn that on and off?

  10. Yes, it would be better … for example long hold on the grips button to change seat heat… still need to go into sub menu though

  11. Maybe that’ll come on an update in the future.

  12. Thanks for update, hopefully pick my V4S up next week which will have all the updates already installed..

Is the R&G no: plate hanger easy to fit and are you pleased with the quality ? Personally think it looks good in the photo.

  13. You’ll love it

Putting the R&G plate hanger on was the first thing I did… really not a fan of the OEM one. I contemplated the CNC tail tidy but opted for the R&G as a stop gap until Evotech launch theirs for sale shortly.

It is pretty straightforward to fit. Release four bolts on underside of rear subframe and the a number of smaller black hex bolts on the underside of the mudguard. I will say it is pretty expensive for what it is but is well made and definitely better than OEM.

  14. What’s the CNC tail tidy? Have you got a link?

  16. I think I’ll hold out for the Evotech tidy in that case.

  17. I have the upgrade done together with the first yearly service (which was as promised for free after the motor renewal) but the lowering of the suspension I do not see it is working I wonder if the upgrade for The Netherlands is different I doubt this if I switch to urban the urban is not highlighted but greyed out? The seat heating does remember its setting and only need to be changed to lower or raise the temp.

  18. you don’t need to be in Urban for the suspension lowering to work. Try holding the suspension preload button down for 5 seconds and it should work if the software upgrade has been done

  19. The upgrade has being done I have the three screens at closing and the heated grips can de changed with the button on the handle but when I press the spring button and keep it pressed for 5-10 sec the spring on screen remains in auto?

  20. I'm told the software update is in 3 parts, 1 - screen / heated grips control, 2 - Bluetooth connectivity, 3 - suspension update. Could be you have only had 2 of the three updates? I would get the dealer to check.
