(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. Had PPF stuck to both bikes today, tank sides only. Then gave both my bikes a good clean and polish, works or art!:cool:

  2. Had an hour out, with summer gloves on. Turned the heated grips down from high to medium. Roll on spring.

  11. Stripped the top end off my lads rs4, going to fit a big bore kit to it tomorrow. Then once that’s fitted replace the fairings, it seems it not been that well cared for by it’s 10 owners in 10 years. I’m amazed just how many non standard/correct fasteners are holding it together .:(

  13. Oh dear but at least it looks like you caught it before it self destructed totally. Andy

  14. Fully expecting to find bits when I changed the oil. Less than an hour to get it stripped :joy::joy::joy:
Steel gears and a new water pump time I think.

  15. Ordered a Profi Cat, line laser, chain alignment aid/tool from Bikemart in Cornwall. Did the business on-line about an hour ago and just got email notification that it is in the post. Looks like I'll be checking the Scrambler's chain alignment later in the week :D Andy

  16. what were symptoms if any?

  17. Nothing except yellow plastic bits in the sump.
I would say that you get no warning until the gears fall apart. And if they haven't done so by now, they will eventually.

  18. lucky escape then, doesn't look like it was good for many more miles. I remember similar with inferior timing-belt tensioners on Vauxhall twin-cam engine.

  19. Fitted a Puig Touring Screen to the Multi 950.

Seems a lot better turbulence wise. The whole front unit is quite noisy though which is annoying....

  20. Just done the opposite, removed my puig touring screen and fitted short carbon fibre screen. Think it looks more aggressive/better.
