Mutley the bike looks amazing! I've ordered the Evotech levers but they haven't arrived yet. Looks like you have to remove the hand guards to gain access to the lever pivot bolts. Anything else, other than be careful around the microswitches, that a person should know before swapping out the levers? I'd love to get the Ducabike rear brake and shift levers but man, lots of $$$$$$$$.
I saw the Ducabike rear brake and gear levers and couldn’t believe how expensive they are, especially compared to what I paid for my Gilles parts for the 1260, which IMO looked much nicer. I’m just going to wait for them, or Rizoma to release theirs.
Thanks. Did you order them direct from Ducabike in Italy and would it be rude to ask the total cost? I know they are expensive but just wondering how expensive.
I bought the levers from Conquest Racing who had them in stock. If you private message them on here they will share a discount code for forum members. They are more expensive than others but is important to note that they come with the plunger (that goes into the masters) pre-fitted. Many cheaper levers don't and you have to faff around with removing from oem and installing on new levers. These are the ones I bought... fully adjustable levers. https://conquestracingltd.com/produ...a-v4-ultimate-adjustable-brake-clutch-levers/ These ones don't have the micro-adjustment but still look good https://conquestracingltd.com/produ...strada-v4-adjustable-brake-clutch-levers-evo/ These ones are the cheapest of the bunch but still great levers https://conquestracingltd.com/produ...a-v4-adjustable-brake-clutch-levers-gp2-2021/
But my strong recommendation would be to get them professionally fitted. There are cams on the underside of the levers that need to be set up perfectly to interact with the various micro-switches for the front brake, clutch, cruise control activation/de-activation. Had I known how sensitive the micro-switches are I would not have attempted to fit them myself and would have paid to have them fitted, and more importantly - set up correctly (which is actually what I ended up doing in the end (and then some..!))
Had a call from the dealer today, the ones from my 1260 won’t fit. I was going to go for the Evotech ones, but they said they’ve had issues with those, so I’ll either get the Rizoma, or maybe the ASV ones. If anyone wants some Gilles levers for their 1260, drop me a pm!
I was afraid of that after reading on another forum "... I bought Evotech levers that were for a 2020 1260 Multi. They do not work on a V4. The clutch lever is missing a tab that comes down to actuate a second microswitch on the clutch." I have a set of the Evotech levers that are listed for the V4S on the way. They shipped this morning. I'll post how installation goes and if there are any issues. https://evotech-performance.com/col...-v4-s-folding-clutch-and-brake-lever-set-2021
I was wondering what that cam in the picture you posted was for. Makes sense that you would need to be able to adjust activation for the switches when you're able to adjust the lever pivot point. The stock levers don't have those cams and I don't think the more pedestrian Evotech levers I have on the way do either. I'll take a look at them when they get here to make the final call but at this point I'm still planning on doing my own install. I'm a 165 miles away from my dealer.
See that you've fitted CNC bar ends/weights. Apologies in advance for what may be a daft question, but did you get them shipped over from Italy or is there a UK dealer?
My Evotech levers arrived today. I only really want the clutch lever but have gone for the short version which looks to be plenty long enough for me and it does look like it will reduce the reach a bit which I also wanted. Nicely made too.
Has anyone fitted the Ducati Rizoma levers to their V4, as I’ve just noticed that the part number for these is also the same for a lot of other models?
I think the only difference between the V4 lever and many other Ducati levers is the pin for the additional clutch switch. I read somewhere someone successfully adding a pin to his 1260 levers.
The item you circled is one of the adjustable cams that engage/disengage the micro switches. If I recall there are two on the underside of the clutch lever and one on the underside of the brake lever. It is critical to set these up correctly and not damage the micro switches in the process. Your cruise control, quick shifter, clutch and brake are all connected via the ECU and are engaged by these micro switches in order to operate correctly. I'm not sure if this would be the same setup challenge if the radar active cruise control is not fitted... The knurled black knob adjusts the reach/span and red knob is used to adjust the bite pivot (ie plunger) on both clutch and front brake. I guess the adjustable cams are present on these levers due to them being more adjustable than most other levers.
I got them from carbonworld.de in Germany. Keep your order under £135 and you won’t have any import duty to pay
yup, mentioned on here few weeks back that my evotech shortie levers that worked fine on SFV4S and 1260PP don't on the V4 multi. but £50 posted if anyone wants them . Those Ducabike ones looks lovely but how much........ will prob just buy the evotech ones
Fitted the Evotech short clutch lever this afternoon. Took my time and was careful after reading the issues earlier in the thread. Not tested on the road yet but it has certainly reduced the reach to the lever which was a bit of an issue for me.
This is good to hear. I'm also after a shorter reach on the clutch side. My levers are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
Been out this morning for an 80 mile ride. The shorter Evotech clutch lever is a resounding success. Much better control with being able to keep two fingers on the bar and two on the lever.
