916 This Chip ?

  1. The BMC filters shown in bootsam post above is a good design starting point. They slide up and out of a frame for cleaning.

  2. BD1B3543-A9E1-4AC9-BDF2-ECB451234D33.jpeg The chip I got from Desmo Times ended being their own reflashed unit not an actual DP chip.

Edit: The bad chip came from Desmo Market in Tombolo Italy.

Wouldn’t even make the bike run. Key “on” gives a spastic fuel pump. I’m done with those guys!

Who should I contact for a proper unit?

915 916 Strada. Stock engine. Low restriction air filters. 45/50 termi carbon exh.

  3. Thank you @TNR

To be clear, my bike has a working chip. It was chipped/tuned in Tokyo decades ago for the 45mm termi slips.

So now I need the correct unit for the 45/50 system. She runs ok but snatchy down low.

Is the 54610601A what I’m looking for?

  4. The EPROM marked 053 is the stock USA 916 chip.

You need to look for the Ducati Performance EPROM

  5. Found the exact new eprom from an eBay seller in Middlesex. He even accepted my offer of 35 pounds haha.

Hopefully I get what I pay for this time.

This does not look like a « genuine » (OEM/NOS?) Ducati or Ducati Performance chip to me. More like a copy of said map on a generic eprom.

In my experience, « genuine » chips look like this:

  8. Yep, the photo above is from my SP3 too.

  9. Thank you @Guillaume69 i thought the same thing.

The last one from Desmo Market the eBay ad had pictures of an oem chip but a generic chip showed up. And was total shite.

This is a correction to before. The bad chip is from Desmo Market in Tombolo Italy. Not Desmo Times. Sorry for the confusion!

This time around we’ve got pictures of a generic chip but an ad that clearly states it is a “new genuine” Ducati eprom chip. So I was hoping for better results.

The seller is HGB Motorcycles in West London. Perhaps I’ll have a better experience this time?

  10. I must admit your negative feedback about Desmo Times and LT Snyder was very surprising. This guy has a pretty solid Ducati knowledge and speaks his mind quite openly about things (motorcycle related or else) he dislikes. He is definitely one of my go to businesses whenever I have an opportunity to have things shipped from the US.

Again, may be this is a language thing, but doesn’t « genuine » mean « authentic », as in OEM? Because this UK eBay ad and the picture are in contradiction, in my humble opinion. The chip on the pic does not look like a « genuine » Ducati or Ducati Performance chip. Not that it matters at all in terms of what it’ll do for your bike, as the software is probably « genuine », but if you’re looking for OEM and pay accordingly (£60-ish!), then I would double check with the seller.

Here’s an example of what could be « genuine ». And for a much better price, at that.

  12. Kev,

I am actually looking for a #57. My SP3 came with #56 in the P8 and a NOS #58 on the side. I followed your search for a #57. Would you have a direction to point me towards for a NOS #57?

    Cheers!

  13. Hi G, I have had my SP3 from new so only have the OEM parts. The -57-, the standard part, is very hard to find as many were lost or not even delivered, I guess as most owners put the Termis on from new. There was a gent on the 851/888 forum, Haga40, who seemed to have wide range of OEM chips for both 888 and 916 bikes. It was a while ago, but he might be worth a try.

  14. Yes @Guillaume69 I feel bad about implicating Desmo Times. I’ve edited everything I said. Sorry!

I agree that the wording in the eBay ad means it is oem Ducati no question. But then the picture of the item. Argh!

I sent them an email so lets see what they say.

Guys my bike is a 95 916 Strada. Monoposto. Not an SP.

  15. Sorry, SP was only an example of course.

  16. I tried ringing HGB Motorcycles in London. The largest Honda dealer in UK according to their website.

    No answer at any extension.
