The most expensively priced 748 in history? 2001 Ducati 748 CJS 853 Ultimate Sp 853cc for sale for £25,000 in EDINBURGH, CITY OF EDINBURGH (autotrader.co.uk) (I genuinely dont know, is it worth it?)
That has been up for sale for at least a couple of months. A lot of money has been spent on the bike that, IMO, the seller will not recover. It's worth more parted out than it is as a bike. Very little left of the original 748R which is where the money would have been but now, it’s just a bitza, a very spangly bitza but a bitza nevertheless. Andy
probably for another thread but at what point does a bike become a bitsa? When it doesn’t come with oem parts presumably?
True dat!, but IMHO looks a little unstable to move around on those tiny wheels on that rough garage floor without a bit more strapping down to make sure it's secure. Perhaps the seller has a friend who sits on it to keep it steady when being moved.
In this instance, the only original parts I can see, are the clutch slave cylinder and the rectifier. Everything else is DP catalogue or aftermarket. I'm guessing the original engine was the donor but no idea how detailed the build was. Andy
The 748 was the first bike I ever fell in love with and wanted to (realistically) own as a kid. If I win the euro millions tonight keep your eyes peeled
Found one in the wild. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/bike-details/202209260116679 (sorry not ebay) Seems to be priced above list for the options I can spot and a bit of a lazy ad but I guess if you want one run in already with the panniers you won't have to wait now.
Best mate is selling his multistrada, he's just bought a hyperstrada. A real struggle for him to part with it he's loved it. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/39426552..._pJKZvMR4K&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
A very nice purchase for somebody with this Ducati Supeleggera, with a ridiculously low 34 miles on the speedometer, get it insured and used the damn thing is my advice.! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/275466463222?hash=item402314a7f6:g:Ht8AAOSw27RjJ4nA
Can’t imagine there’s many folk who could get insured on that. “Hi is that MCE insurance? I seem to have come off my motorbike and there’s a fair bit of damage” All the best with that lol
They are works of art! At WDW the year they came out, Ducati had a stand with one in bits, and some of the lightweight bits (frame, wheels, engine bits, etc) out so the riff raff could compare with the same parts from the cooking version ones The difference in weight was remarkable. More room for pies I guess....
Be very careful with that pie diet as you'll not fit the jockey seat ever again in a month of sundays.
