(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. Gave the V4 a thorough wash, possibly one of if not the last one of the year, as I can’t see myself riding it much over the winter. Judging by the number of grade A knobheads I encountered on the road on Sunday, I’m not in any hurry to ride it anyway.

  2. My SP2 getting a speedo calibration for the i2M dash and a power run on the stock Ducati supplied map that came with the Akra full race Exhaust.

  6. Looks good on the data. Will have it on track soon so will know for sure then.

  7. I wanted to replace the water temperature sensor on my ST4 so, after a great deal of searching around, I found the part number and a seller in France. I ordered two and received them today. However, they are 'different'! see pic.

Does anyone know it there are 'different' ones on the bike? I have removed the one for water temeperature on my bike and it is the same as the one with the long sensor end. I have not seen the one with the short/wide end.

    Any ideas???

    Thanks

  8. The one in my 888 is just like to one on the right (let's call him "Mr Stubby") ;)

  9. I used to love tinkering around with these, and they do remind me/look very similar to the Italian water temp sensors on cars from the 60's onwards.
First of all i'm surprised that all the numbers stamped on the hex flats are the same for both? - they used to incorporate a temp number on here, and voltage also I think.

  10. Test rode the Multistrada after having work done at G-tech Performance in Leicestershire.

Lower handlebars fitted but not perfect. Think I’ll have to find some that are slightly higher, for clearance but lower than the originals. Maybe some risers will do the trick. I like them low but they need to be rolled forwards a touch so need to be just that little bit higher.

Twist grip fixed after I messed it up. New fuel sender fitted, I wonder how long this one will last. New Afam chain and Esjot sprockets fitted. Changed the rear by + 2 teeth, Esjot being one of the few makes that does 42 teeth with the original 530 width. German, looked a good piece of kit. I didn’t even notice the difference as I was thinking about the other stuff. Maybe it’ll help at 30 mph, we’ll see. Throttle slop drove me mad though, needs a fix.

    Healtec quickshifter fitted, result!

Oil and fluids service, reset the light, another result. Well done Wayne at G-Tech.

Put it in a cacoon before all the shite weather arrived today. Probably going to Sorn it.

  11. Not sure why my post above got a disagree??

  12. Numbers on the hex flats are not the same:

    Long one has: WTS/09 blank 401970 01/02 blank 2977

    short one has: WTS/09 00402 blank 2618 /01 blank

I did wonder if they would both work but I have queried the difference with the supplier. Waiting on reply.

  15. that's a shame they are not as user-friendly anymore, amongst all those numbers can't be a temperature as you would have a smaller, raised "degree" symbol.

  16. Have just swapped the water heat sensors over so ...

    New one has: WTS/09 blank 401976 01/02 blank 2977

    Old one has : WTS/09 blank 401976 01/02 blank 3228

haven't run it up to full heat yet but everything does seem to work so far. :grinning:

  17. i would have done the same ^. :upyeah:

it's originally a Jaeger ref number apparently which fits in with my memories. but here follows a rabbit warren that may or may not be helpful. My main aim was to find actuating temperature via a part number suffix but no luck here so far - further searching I believe would reveal this eventually.

    I'm assuming it's a 2-pin type?

  18. Picked up my new multi :)
