Careful how you fit the new levers. If the set up isn’t right it will burn out the micro switch under the clutch lever and make the QS and cruise inoperable.
OK - either I was just lucky the first two times I did this on my 950 and my V2S .. but - as you say - looks like there's an easy ability to screw things up royally - like this guy ... I'll just ask Ducati instead I think.
What he did is what I did first time round. To replace the switch is tough without taking the whole tank cover off.
I don’t understand why he didn’t just send the levers back! I tried using a set of levers I had on my 1260 on the V4 and found the quickshifter stopped working. Rather than glue bits to the levers like he did I just bought Ducabike ones which had the additional tabs. That said the weather has been so bad since I fitted them I haven’t been out on the bike to test them!
Fitted some bar risers with a slant back towards me yesterday. It’s improved my comfort and feel no end. With the bars in the standard position it means my arms are almost straight but now I have a bend at the elbow.
Bought a strip of anti slip tape and placed on the LH swing arm where my boot is likely to rub. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/393381152705?var=662223283606
Do you have link for that please? I’ve done 24,000km on mine now and the swing arm now has a polished part with a black ring around it from my left boot heel
I went to buy a V4S that had a swingarm that had the paint rubbed off quite badly. I'm not expecting that to happen on mine - but just in case I went for some stoneguard film - here's how it looks .. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01MY8VCNT
All the add-ons have been installed now .. and I bought a belly pan and had that powder coated black and installed that at the weekend. Installing the Evotech radiator guards was more of a challenge than expected as the Ducati spot lights use the same mounting position as the radiator guards - with different bolts being used. Got some new bolts to allow both to use the same mounting holes. I was surprised not to read any comments on here about that ? I did get Ducati to install the levers as a precaution. Also, having been for a couple of short rides - the Iconic GPS mount does vibrate a fair bit with my XT2 attached - so I ordered the Enduro metal mounts to hopefully prevent any issues there. Can't think of anything else apart from a couple of RAM mounts for my phone and GoPro.
The XT2 is 80 gms heavier than the XT and can overwhelm the plastic mounts. The enduro mounts come with plastic spacers, be very wary about over tightening the bolts as you can easily crush them. Andy
An Iconics part. If you use the drop down menu under “Type” in this link, https://iconicparts.uk/shop/ols/products/multistrada-v4-v4s-device-mount, you will see “offroad mounting brackets” which you order separately. Andy
