My Hypermotard 821 SP has a lowered seat, but I can’t discern any real difference between the standard and it. Still suffering from vertigo and tippytoes.
silly question how will i know which it is? euro 4/5? i had my eye on your pipe and some mivv exhausts but someone beat me to the mivv exhausts.
Yours is a Euro 4 mate so the decat I'm selling is the correct one. Had a look at the photos and the downpipes are connected to the decat by springs. Ducati changed this method with Euro 5.
And stupid question but will I need a remap due to back pressure changes? also are the 939 ohlins the same as the 950s?
according to this they don't https://www.bike-parts-ducati.com/ducati-motorcycle/assignment_spare_parts/34520755A also got the replacement clutch cover delivered, it leaves a lot to be desired anyone know if they are powdercoated from the factory? am curious if i can get it sorted for 50-100. but if its a lot of faff rather leave as is and address in future.
I recently did something similar for a multi and same as you are now, got pissed with the crap from eBay, found it cheaper for most parts directly from my local dealer after asking for an additional 10% due to expected spend, the few items that were cheaper on eBay were only just, in the end the only used part I put on was a headlight, everything else new. The reason is I have invoices for all parts from a dealer if I ever do decide to sell. It’s hard enough when it’s a category bike and to use, used parts unless mint will affect the price.
well bikes here, it runs well, turns out already had a decat on it. sitting on it is okay, I can touch the ground with 1 foot and that's all i'll need. no holes in the clutch case. already replaced the right side foot assembly and passengers foot assembly. the handlebar clamps seem bent. the yoke/bolts seem fine but theres something not quite lining up. managed to get the clamp/mounts/some evotech plate for like £56quid so absolute steal imo. hopefully that sorts it and its not the handlebar thats bent. after that it'll be ready for an MOT, i haven't fitted clutch cover yet since it won't actually need it, no leaks ma.
Are you sure it’s not just knocked the wheel and yokes out of alignment? I’ve just had similar on my latest salvage repair and I had to loosen the front wheel and yoke clamps off and give it a jiggle to get it back to straight.
tbf literally just installed the fresh mounts/clamp it's a bit better but still out, so i'll give what you say a shot and then disassemble the handlebar if no luck. picture wise its: to me it seems either the clamp/handlebar are out in relation to the yoke rather than the wheel also if i can't find a right fairing i may just run her nude.
as usual this forum always delivers, handy post and pics of abba stand which is similar fitment to skylift https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/hyper-950-rear-stand-abba-stand.93554/
hmm thinking of nuking the handguards/indicators entirely and maybe just adding fork indicators, and maybe bar end mirrors. they are surprisingly cheap from the dealer but not a fan of the handguards personally.
anyone know which wire I can tap into for DRL? These indicators come with some drls so be worth hooking up. Also it seems carbon fibre fairings are wayyy cheaper than normal ones. Would make a sexy stealth build thats for sure.
so fitting the fork indicators, they look alright. but they dont work, they are LEDs, I noticed the indicator wires off the duc give a alternating 0/4.4v. while the aftermarket do the streaking thing and work off a 12v battery. is that normal? anyway i can reconcile the two?
Shes readyish, I ended up just going with stock indicators. Too much faff with the rest. Needs another mirror and few bits of fairing but they'll be more of as and when. Only question is it right that the hand guards are so low? I tried adjusting the handlebar but they are currently in the position that feels "natural" to me.
If you look at the pictures of the bike on the Ducati website, the brake and clutch reservoirs are vertical, yours are not. What feels natural to you has the bars rotated too far forward. Andy
It defo seems so because the handguards/indicators dont seem like they'd be in a useful place. Shame there wasn't any adjustment to it at all.
