Hopefully Silverstone will be dry and hopefully I can remember where my braking points were so I can make a comparison. Andy
Love the update Andy. Are you finding you are quicker than on your sports bikes? And importantly as/more fun?
Almeria was great, broke through the 2:10 barrier and managed to get down to about 2:07 on the Metzeler Racetecs which was quicker than the TD Slicks that were wrecked by mid morning on day 2 The race brake pads was the breakthrough, gained a lot of time braking later and harder. I might lose out on outright acceleration and top speed but you ain’t coming underneath me under brakes and tip in As you know, the Multistrada is huge fun on track and it is probably one of the best bike decisions I've made Andy
Here we go, the 15 year old M4/34 calipers cleaned up nicely. This is the kit I bought. Titanium, ventilated and castellated pistons and the finished calipers Andy
Handlebars have been swapped over which was a fairly straightforward task and I seem to have found a position that works for me. Most definitely not a swap that would work for standard switch gear and master cylinders. The holes in the Monster handlebar for the locating pegs are all out of position for the Multistrada. My billet master cylinders don't have location pegs and the starter switch gear is rotated about 60° forward which is of no issue. It would, however, bug the hell out of me on my road bike. Bring on Silverstone. Andy
@bradders That PZRacing GPS worked a treat on my 1299. Puts time up on dash and no input from rider asides riding the thing. It knows where you are and where start/finish is.
Now trying to figure out how to fix it securely to the bike. Just how good is this new version Velcro that looks like lots of little bobbles. Andy
I’ll post a pic tonight brad. I have mine mounted on the fairing subframe (gold thing) in front of dash. I used the velcro to lodge it there. For it to work your dash needs to be in track mode display. It does nowt when in road mode display. So for the road, its pretty much just an ornament. In track mode display, the lap timer function is prominent. It has all the tracks built in. When I cross the start/finish it activates itself and begins and stops once ive crossed again and shows your time. The module holds 6hrs of data which you can download to pc using raceapp app. Ive learnt that I need to set that up on pc BEFORE I go. However, for each lap it displays it and thats all i ever wanted.
@Biot, the brake mods made a noticeable difference, I’d go as far as to say, transformed is appropriate. True, a lot of money but the difference in how and when I brake, has made a huge difference in my lap times. Andy
Appreciate the feed back @Android853sp. I've followed his story and good to get a customers perspective. Just wonder why Brembo et el don't make similar if the benefits are so pronounced
As far as I know, they are but not for the likes of you and me. Much like the Braking race pads I acquired. The technology has to have come from somewhere and wonder if it's a car thing. Found 3 manufacturers offering their own versions for most Brembo calipers, including the Stylema. Andy
