On my Multi 1200 2013 non- DVD the flange is on the inside and the chain is not rubbing or touching anything. I have replaced the front sprocket about five times and always flange inside as per parts diagram.
From the narrowest of research then it would seem pre DVT models have the raised central part inwards and DVT models have it facing out . More research is required.
managed to get a few hours blast around the peaks tonight and definitely feels a lot better with the 2 more teeth, even wondering if I could have gone 3 up as I still found it a tad laboured around town at crawling speeds but its certainly improved for sure!! took a spanner out with me and adjusted the gearshift position and massively improved that too! 2 things im not happy with and thats the throttle is slightly snatchy like on/off when im bringing it on its quite jolty, and the rear brake is pants, I tried stamping on it and its very faded, feels like the pads aren't biting enough! I did try a brake bleed but the pedals not long, its just not biting so might try some sintered rear pads and try another bleed with some 5.1 brake fluid as the stuff I had was just laying about but pedal doesn't feel bad or long. other than that im loving the bike for sure, very different to my little tiger 800 I had.
Rear brake, you need to take the caliper off (or position it at the top of the disc rotor) to bleed as the nipple position by default is too low and holds air if bled in its default position. Throttle, you need to get a throttle spacer, OEM caters for the regulations enforced which requires a few mm of play before engaging. Causing what you're describing. https://ducatispacers.com/products/...s-2017-monster-supersport-xdiavel-multistrada Also, if you're going to put in new fluids, from factory it's DOT 4, so be sure to fully flush if you're going for 5.1
cheers bud, I don’t think there’s a spacer kit you can get for the 1200, had a look and couldn’t find anything myself and your link doesn’t show any for the 1200 dvt. With the bleeding, can you back bleed these instead and force the fluid back up the line instead so you don’t have to take the caliper off? If I do need to take caliper off is it a wheel off job?
it’s just a cheap bag I bought a few years ago that I had on my tiger and to be honest it’s not been a bad bag at all for the price, think I paid like £20 online from sportsbikeshop! Q bag they’re called.
here’s a pic with my hand to show the room pal, not huge but carries all the essential bits like a big bag of chips
