1200 DVT Remapping A 1200s Dvt, Anyone Ever Had This Done?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Martylaa, May 21, 2022.

  1. Have a word with Steve Yardley well respected in the ECU tuning of Ducatis he did a generic map on my 1260s just to make it smoother and it worked he's a Multistrada owner too.

  2. Anyone had a rapid bike evo on their multi 1260s I have a termi end a been thinking of decaf but not sure I want it too loud even with moulded ear plugs for the touring but. Also cops r getting more noise db savvy. What Does rapid bike do ? I had it on my bmw R9t it made throttle crispier but fuel consumption dropped ( not worried about that )

  3. not sure but think @nelly may do these?

  4. I don't do the DVT i'm afraid. Not a fan of Rapid Bike tbh, but I know some use them and are happy. A de-cat on the Termi end can will make it very loud. We've returned a few back to stock because of it. Great for short blast and they do sound good, but it's gets tiring on longer runs. It's all down to the individual I guess. For touring, I personally wouldn't bother

  5. The 1260 does not have the notorious dip in the powerband that the 1200 had.
Consequently, a Rapid Bike unit would not be the best solution. Moreover, there's an unconfirmed report that the harness may not be long enough to reach the pillion section which is the optimal placement of the control box unit. I have one left over from my Panigale and have not ordered a 1260 harness for that reason.

A decat must be done right. Just slapping a cat bypass and using the stock exhaust end piece will make your bike obnoxiously loud and your A/F ratio will be out of whack where the bike will run crappy.
Moreover, the 1260 is already loud enough in stock form but that's just me.
If I were you, I would reach out to the guys at BHP UK for advice.

  6. Afternoon
You could always go full termi system with upmap and resell the end can

  7. That's true but you're most likely to get more performance and less cost with a good remap which can raise the RPM limiter and remove the top speed governor probably still embedded in the full Termi system's upmap.
And, you don't have to look at the unsightly huge Termi silencer required for the full system.
