Checked the crank seals on my Sons Aprilia and they’re fine, back to the carb as the chief suspect in it’s bad running.
Getting on with fitting the farkles from the old 1260 Mutley to the Pikes Peak. This afternoon I managed the following: Evotech crash bungs with one new mushroom. Evotech bar ends with one new outer end cap. SP Connect power supply plugged into GPS socket. Fitted new Evotech SP Connect fit sat nav mount. Finally the Ducati Performance spot lights. Blimey, why didn't they make the connector under the tank with another inch of cable. Finally managed to tease it out enough so that I could pop off the cap and attach the sub loom. Fairing sides had to come off, they'll need replacing tomorrow as I'd run out if daylight. Activated the lights using the OBDStar. More to do tomorrow or over the weekend, if I can find the time. Tyres being next priority.
Just put another 120 miles on the bike by riding up to Northumberland and back whilst the rain had eased off a while. Should be good for it’s first service next week
Took a wheel and tyre, with a 2nd rim to my local trusted mechanic to swap the tyre over from the Buckled rim, then went over to Ducati Coventry to collect an exhaust spring, then collected the aforementioned wheels on my way home, fitted the new wheel to the new project bike
Went for a ride with a friend. Actually the thread starter. Bought some winter gloves before heading home. Cheers @Cream_Revenge Maybe see you Monday at Donny.
Took my Monster 821 for its final ride of the year. Through Matlock and then Tagg lane. Washed it, put it under its cover and SORNed it.
Why are people sorning their bikes so early? Bikes are so cheap to tax, we’ve got at least another month of half decent weather, before the shit show arrives, and the gritters are out, so I’m making the most of it.
I only SORN bikes that can’t be ridden, all my other bikes are fully road legal 12 months. Some days although not often enough the roads are dry and it’s unlikely to rain and I’ll take the opportunity to ride.
