as far as im aware they are the standard items (pretty sure) but the 99 748 appears to be an odd ball when ordering parts.... or is that just all dukes? had a few now and allways get the "hmmm that's strange" when tryin to get bits
Not sure what those discs are but they are similar to the keyhole discs, which do not float. These are 998 discs, no holes only cross lattice. 998 Discs are not full floaters. They look like 748SPS discs which are floating and they are cast iron not steel. These are keyhole discs, again non floater. And finally cast iron 748SPS discs
Lol..... now im even more confused... mine don't look like any of those. they are floating (to some degree, as there is movement in the bobbins ( or are they just f@#ked!?) I always thought they were standard brembo.. don't know if I seen it stamped or just assumed.... Still need black ones though!!!
bike miles away so I cant check.... was hoping to go do a bit tomorrow but gotta mot and tax and insure van.. Need a headlight bulb, tyre and poss catalytic converter.. f-ing gutted and lose a days pay!!! but hopefully next week will see this mystery solved and some progress on my baby. Was hoping to have her fin for my b'day in 4 weeks but its not to be......
Finally got to do work on the bike yesterday, quite productive but was missing a few bits! like the ball bearing from the rear foot rest, 1 stainless bolt from the a foot rest hanger, the stainless mounting bolts for front callipers and the new front brake hoses are to short!!! but still had a great day!!! heres where we are at

I am loving this build, credit to you for the patience and attention to detail. Out of interest can you get a socket on the sprocket nuts to fully tighten them up? I can't on my renthal quick change and have to tighten them with an open ended spanner, possible design fault. Steve
If you get some full-floating bobbins (STM and others make them) you can cut the rigid bobbins off and fit the floaters for the full rattle-effect. A useful by-product of this is that you can paint/anodise the carriers whilst they're apart. I have STM full-floating bobbins on my Monster's discs; Being alloy they are also lighter than the original steel bobbins.
thanks mate, im more used to butchering wood but I think im doing ok too! Its certainly required a lot of patience so far (something I usually lack) and I've cocked a few things up but along the way It will be worth it!!!! Mines a ducati performance carrier but i think its the same as the renthal i had which i couldn't get a socket on either

Got the hub assembly sorted (as in pics) turned ouy it was the zinc plating I had done that was the prob but some emery paper sorted that.
