My project Super Pantah is go!!!!

  1. That makes you second in line for SS parts, someone PM'd me before I'd collected the bike!

  2. OK, so today went good and bad, I found my 650 heads won't fit my '91 cylinders without mods, so it'll stay a 650 until I can source some late 80's 750 cylinders and pistons. However, I got the front and rear ends fitted, it's looking better already and at least I can move it around the workshop!

  3. Cool! What is going on with the long red seat in the top pic, are you going for the Bobber look??!:biggrin:

  4. Why dont the heads fit, i thought the stud patten was the same with the same spigot?

  5. Nice project, I is Jealous, but please make a nicer job of the frame mods, than on the radical bike.

  6. The 650 heads have the same stud pattern but they are only opened out enough to sit on the 650 cylinders, not the 100mm OD of the 750. And yes, I'll be thinking carefully about the frame mods ;-)

  7. Nice project, I hope you post lots of pictures. I wish this forum had a folder dedicated to build projects like this....I'd almost given up coming here until I found this thread.

I've got a 750 Paso engine that I'm putting in an allazura frame, at the moment it's going to be a street tracker but it could change.

  8. No Harley bottom end then ;-) I need a Paso motor as apparently those cylinders wil fit, but I'm not convinced! I may put the 750 top end on complete with 'wrong way round' heads, with the short 650 inlets and carbs and see if they'll fit? If I need to mod the frame I can do it now and get my welder to finish all in one go. I'm lucky that the welder I use is happy for me to tack everything together and take it to him to weld properly! I like the idea of a projects forum, post your pics up as well!

  9. Looking good Nick :upyeah:

  10. So why not get the cylinder head machined out to accept the larger barrel spigot, easy job for a competent machine shop. they could also reprofile the squish band to suit your new piston whilst they are on it.

Very little visible progress for too many months as the swingarm is being shortened so that the wheelbase gets closer to original and a broken tendon in my right hand recovers from operation No2. Once those two jobs are out of the way I'm hoping to make some more significant headway.

Project No2 is my SuperPantah - this album contains the inspiration and reference points I'm hoping to follow with some help from their creator...

  12. Nice project! I've ordered my steel tube and plate to fabricate the new rear sub-frame, just waiting on my bodywork to arrive from Radical now :upyeah:

  13. Oh, and I've cut the stock manifolds to run the Dellorto carbs on a reverse head 750 motor as well, they both fit nicely within the chassis rails now :upyeah:

  14. I was with Pepo for a few hours and a beer yesterday and he mentioned your project, said he was eager to ship before holiday season takes a grip out here when everything grinds to a halt till Sept - if I can help in any way, let me know today, I fly home tomorrow....

  15. Pepo told me about the holidays in his last email, he said he'll do his best to get my stuff sorted before then :) Cheers for your offer again and the pictures you sent the link to before!

  16. My steel tube and sheet arrived today, and Pepo fro Radical has emailed to say they will do their very best to have all the stuff made and sent before the holidays! At least the rear carb points the right way now! Before and after shots.
