i managed to get one wheel adjuster out today and snapped the other bollox,i managed to drill it out with a very long drill bit and re tapped the both 8mm,i did the swingarm off my 750ss while i was at it.
We have made a bit more progress, fairing bracket is roughed out and the cross over shaft for the gear change is on its way.
i have seen the frame kits but my mates budget is half that price including buying the bike to the finished bike,if i was going down the new frame route i would make my own,the same as every thing else.
Chad not dissing you at all, your skills make mine look insignificant. Was posting as you had talked about doing a kit? Just showing you the competition, I think the price for their kit is expensive, as it is fundamentally a frame, tank and exhaust system and of the shelf bodywork
Thanks, yes it is expensive for wot you get and in the end ours will be a closer replica, hopefully i will get the exhaust finished tomoro and a few more bit,i will post some progress pics
I sincerely hope your mate appreciates all your hard work. He's got himself a bargain given the effort you've put in so far.
I have the exhaust 90% done, just brackets baffle and spring hooks to put on,i forgot wot a pain in the arse exhausts like this are.
exhaust looks stunning - never seen someone take so much trouble getting the shape to follow the contours of the crankcase. Clearance on swingarm ok?
I used to work at Mclaren, and watching Gary the exhaust guy was just fascinating. He was the grumpiest bastard on earth sometimes, but a bloody genius with it.
thanks ....its tight on the swingarm,i set the gap with a green rizla, and if your doing a replica you have to get it as close as poss to the original,i have a few pics i had to scale off.
