check if insurance has protected no claims.....if so you wont loose any no claims but the risk they work your rate at increases. ie before claim risk £1000 -60% no claims = insurance cost after claim risk £1200 -60% no claims = insurance cost most fully comp policy's will be protected check and also check your excess.
I'm now an expert in broken Ducatisti and apart from the noise issue the other stuff can easily be sourced from eBay. You can get non oe front sub frames even cheaper if you want if not as stated above, fairings vary but if you catch it right again not too bad and if you don't want pristine cheaper still. Other options are full Chinese kits for less than £300. On the plus side you get to know your bike by spending a day stripping it and putting the bits back together. Plastic welding and good glues can also repair most bits of fairing then get handy with a rattle can....Bradders is the expert on that! Good luck
The fairings stay often breaks, mainly as the mirror just gets driving straight back down. Although I wont see my crashed 1098s until tomorrow, im fairing sure the fairing stay remained intact as I took the mirrors off beforehand
Hi, Should this rear indicator just click back on? It doesn't seem to have anything to hold it in place. Thanks.
Thanks for reply. As you can see, mine currently moves more than 'a bit' Would it be glued that, do you think? There's no sign of glue, or any other way it's s'posed to be attached.
Hmmm, i'd have to look at mine to double check. Thankfully they're in the garage with the original plate hanger and didnt get chucked at the scenery on Monday
I checked and I cant imagine that these 'pop' in and out, so it looks like a replacement may be needed. Worth looking at a parts doc if you have time
If you take the lense off one screw and then the reflector out you can relocate it the reflector has lugs that slide in the slots on the stem it's easy to put back on.
Sorry to hear the news, never a cheap quick repair item a Ducati, yet the chaps on hear are an awesome fountain of knowledge so keep posting the photos and asking the questions....Good luck with the repair, Cornish
