Tonight your words fall together with such eloquence and feather light delicacy that it's as though you have been possessed by a fairy princess carrying an Uzi and a Bazooka
Perhaps it's a little unfair to include the 1885 Daimler Einspur, since it was the very first motorcycle:
Phillip Stark if I recall. Looking at them now I do wonder if it would actually fit the marketplace better than it did when new.
If HR Giger had designed a motorbike it would have looked something like that! Horrible! I'm afraid in my top 5 ugliest bikes, the original (1000/1100) Multistrada has a place - the 2 wheeled Fiat Multipla! I'm sure the Multistrada is fine to ride, but it's hard to believe it comes from the same company that made the iconic bellissima 916.
I actually liked La Motó by Stark and Aprilia, if that's what it was called (I think so). The orange and grey colour scheme was good, the exhaust pipe looked a bit cheap. But it had style. No idea what it was like to ride. Probably a collector's item by now. Whereas the Sacha Lakic (another French designer who doesn't normally do bikes) Bimota was simply horrible. I loathe bikes that look like insects. I don't like insects. Why would I want to ride one?
Reminds me of the Moto Morini Dart, except that the Dart was beautiful and that Cagiva is, uh, awkward on the eyes.
yes - owned by same company at the time and virtually the same bike. I couldn't believe the inverted dustbin lid that is a front fender but have come to love it over the years - Massimo Tamburini was great there is no doubt.
