Quite a bit different, slightly longer thread, but longer body, still got the same m4 in the main bolt body, for the switch? Are the main body diameters the same? Are the threads m8?
All the thread are the same, also size of socket what i used is different, OEM 13 mm custom 14 mm. But it would fit if it would be a bit longer.
Looks like the part that is on the frame/ case is a bit wider. I would hazard a guess at 3mm longer thread, and 5mm longer on the main section, what do you think?
doughnut, if Teemu is right my bolt must be incorrect as well, as I'm getting a 2015 DVT (but hasn't arrived yet) I can return my bolt so you can supply it to someone else, but the problem for me now is will you have enough numbers to order the new size bolt ? Thanks for your efforts by the way
Yes something like that, cause with this length there is basically none threads coming on the side where you put the nut.
I'll figure out the differences, fundamentally they are the same design, so, costs should be similar. I did notice the new oem bolt is badly designed too. All that leverage on that thin section, it's bound to snap
Not sure what the deal is on these after the initial run but I would like a 2010 one as a preemptive measure.
I Have a 2010 also, and if you have any left I would like one to pls. Got paranoid the other day on leaving on side stand, looked like it was lent over alot, but I cant remember what it was like on the side stand before as I use the centre one as the preferred. David
For what its worth Ive just used an app on my iphone which measures angles (like a spirit level) on my DVT while on the side stand and given an angle of dangle of 18 deg from the vertical. This gives me my baseline ref for the future provided I measure in the same place every time with the same load. If this increases over time then I'll know Ive got a side stand issue. Hopefully the new bolt will keep it constant.....
