It doesn't involve ferry crossings, is shorter and with better roads. But as @cherod says Ireland isn't difficult, I have driven and cycled there.
well we took a little longer,,, a , because we were in my car,, b , because we had a look around dublin , and many other places but still made it to Baltimore for the evening.
@bradders Funny I was looking at that the other day and the web site, it looks great just one major issue for me, well poss 2, it is a long way to get there wish there was a train you could chuck bike on, and the weather dam unpredictable, but some great roads by the looks and little traffic
they way it's been this year i dont know if it's still true but april, may and june usually guarantied the good weather.
I have been that way in May time, (Long Time ago) and it was pretty good weather, frosts in the mornings though.
Come up the scenic route. Late spring early summer is often the best and most reliable time of year. There are three thresholds in Scotland, north of the central belt, north of the Great Glen and north of Ullapool, each one just gets better.
Tempting in its way. But for the same expenditure of time, mileage, money, and petrol we could get to the Black Forest, the Alps, or the South of France. Hmmm, let me see, hard choice to make - where would I rather spend my hols: the arctic regions of Caledonia or the South of France?
Think of the Scottish culture, history and scenery. They talk a bit funny, but a few hand gestures will get you by
Easy , just spend plenty of money , dont make too much noise or be rude to anyone and you should be ok ,,,,,,, oh well , maybe not that easy !!!!!!
I did the NC500 at the end of April. Fantastic roads and scenery. I had all four seasons every hour - snow, rain, wind & sun (repeat). I did it, including the 650 miles to get there, in five days on my Monster S2R 800 [img=http://s33.postimg.org/c3vkn8thr/image.jpg] upload gambar
