1200 DVT Dyno Comparison - Standard V Termi Exhaust

  1. Already done in fact. Sent it into their press department. No response yet...

    Note that the wording on their specs page on the Ducati website is careful to mention that their bhp/torque figures are from a bench run not an in-the-bike run.
     
  2. It this does end up being true across any dvt with this exhaust fitted I'd send it back, yes I appreciate the noise but they'll be far cheaper ways to get noise.

    In their description they suggest 'considerable' increases, I'd say what you've got is minimal, not considerable.

    Is there any way to check the upmap is actually working and had actually changed the fueling?
     
  3. Shame you havent got a std run, one to compare to, as 130 is poor from a 160 bike to start with! I'd have expected 140 BEFORE any mods

  4. There is a standard run in there. It's near 140 with the standard exhaust. I just can't see a decat and map resulting in less power. Very odd. I may seek a second opinion.

    As I said earlier, I'm incredibly happy with the way the bike goes after the mod - much improved. All very strange.

  5. There was a significant difference in performance after Snells did the upmap - I rode it 25 miles to Snells on the Termi without the upmap so easy to compare how it felt afterwards.

    Just checked the graphs. How come the std stops before 10 while the others go to 10500 and its just flat?

  9. I sent in the base run from Friday, not the run with the termi on. Just asked where my 160bhp was and what they would do to provide it. I was hoping the termi would show a big jumps and I could then ask Ducati to provide it for free :).

  11. Do you think your 'arse/dyno is feeling the benefits of the weight loss which would not be shown on a dyno machine?

  12. Great looking bike Tobers and glad that it al least rides better despite what the graph shows.

    Definitely worth pursuing with DUK to try and get an explanation though.

    A very interesting post.
     
  13. No worries - it's been fun so far!

    Doubtful - the engine response is just much perkier and sharper - the weight loss is fairly minimal. Basically the bike just flies - it's bloody hilarious.
     
  14. Agree with tobers on the Termi. Bottom end definitely smoother and perkier. Engine brake not so abrupt as well. I find it easier and more tolerable to hold it at higher revs. not sure if it may have something to do with engine loading at the DVT changing valve timing. Certainly engine responds differently with how quick you snap your wrist.

Thanks tobers for doing what weve all been waiting for. i am also very sceptical of the dyno graphs, as i agree with you my bike is night and day better with the termi and remap,it rips right through the mid range now with no hesitation at all,i wouldnt say its faster in the high end rev range, was fast enough anyway,the problem with flat spot mid range has gone completely, its performing now how i was expecting it to originally and it sounds fantastic as well, ive also gone down to 14 teeth on front sprocket, dont know if this makes any difference.

  17. Its the MRA short screen. Much improved airflow.

  19. I'd be interested to see a comparison with a 2013-14 Multi too. Must confess the performance of the DVT disappointed me on my test ride.
